I'm leaning towards the RNY now.  Wondering what vitamins people are taking.  Are they expensive?  Any inexpensive suggestions?  I've heard of vitalady.com anyone use her? Still sitting on the fence decision wise, but I'm running the RNY through my system now. Korina

I take a multi-vitamin (which I took even before surgery).  I found a great deal at GNC on a 45-day supply for $6.99.  I take calcium+D, which costs about $12.99 for 45 days.  And, I take B12, which was maybe $5.99 for 30 days.  Considering I was spending upwards of $700 a month on prescription meds, this has decreased my monthly debt drastically.

Every once in a while I order my vitamins through www.vitacost.com .  They are very reasonablly-priced.

I take 2 multi-vitamins a day which I get at Costco with a coupon most of the time.  I take Vitron C (iron) which I buy on line for $12 a bottle.  I take 2 flaxseed oil that I also buy at costco on a coupon or on sale at Walmart.  I take b-12 that I get from GNC on sale. I take Biotin that I get at Walmart for a couple of dollars.  Most of this is reimbursed by my pretax medical reimbursement account. Tammy

I take one regular multi a day. Sometimes I take 2, but my surgeon's instructions are for just one. I buy a big jar of 300 tablets at Walmart for like $9 or something. I was able to swallow pills of any size after 6 weeks without any problem.

which surgeon are you planning on, that will help us with which vitamins you will need.  Most surgeons have their own recommendations and there are differences between each program

I'm going to St. Francis in Shakopee for the seminar.  It looks like Dr. Baker is the surgeon there.  Truth is I may not qualify I just found out and I'm really sad about it.  Took me 2 plus years to realize surgury is the way for me to lose weight and well now I may not be able to do it.  I could be wrong so I go to the consult to find out for sure.  But to qualify would be a miracle to me.

My surgeon's office said the best vitamins to take are the Flinstone (or generic equivalent) Children's chewables with iron.  I take 2 of these a day - and I use the Walmart "Equate" version of them.  They aren't all that expensive.  I also take a small iron supplement and calcium supplements.
