OT-The decision was made....
I AM one of the 38 people that lost their positions. Actually, they eliminated the entire department I work in. Six of us right there. Two were ready for retirement, so they actually made out with their package, but the rest of us have to try and find other positions in the next 45 days.
The marketing director that told me didn't know that I worked for multiple divisions and there is a chance I may be able to be moved to another department as I probably should have been in that department to begin with. I pay thousands of invoices and do the budgets for 5 divisions and I simply asked who was going to take on the responsibility for the other divisions. Then after he met with me he went and talked to someone he knew I worked with and verified that I worked for different divisions and his response..."****!!!! Why was she under communications?" So.....am still in need of prayers that I will be able to keep my job and if that doesn't work out, that I will find a position very quickly. Already told my son there may be no Christmas this year. *S*
Thanks everyone for the prayers already....and I appreciate any more you're willing to lift on my behalf.
Love ya all!
Pam...I will continue to keep you in my prayers. I hope a position is available for you and you won't have to be out looking for a new job.
Of all times for that company to cut...why during the holidays?? They sure don't care about people with children and Christmas do they. That is so sad!
Keep thinking positive...I care!!
Hugs, connie d
Oh Connie....thank you so much. If it weren't for all of you on here, I don't know what I'd do. I believe the prayers have kept me grounded. I haven't cried....I refuse to let go of hope. *S* There is nothing I can do, so I've just informed my kids that there won't be too much for Christmas this year if I don't know anything for sure beforehand.
Pam...I think it is fine to have not as much this Chrismas. I am in the same boat. I insist and the rest of the adults in the family agree that my daughters will only be buying gifts for their children this year.
One daughter is divorced and raising three children on her own and the other has Nic and the Cancer to deal with....great expense there!!
We all agree that just being with each other and playing games and enjoying ourselves is gift enough.
You will see it will all work out for the best.
Your childen have you and your love and after all that is the greatest gift!!
Hugs and connie d
((((Pamela)))) ~ I am going to keep praying and thinking positive for you, that this will all work out for the better! You sound like a very key employee to this company, no doubt they will recognize that. Just keep your cool with them through it all and hug 'em when they tell you you're safe!
Love you!
