OT: Insurance...GRRRR

As most of you know, my insurance neglected to cover my RNY procedure, so I did the out of pocket thing in Mexico.  Recently, I had a minor female surgical thingy done.  I got the bill and I have to pay over $400 out of pocket.  I was somewhat expecting it because this is the third or fourth time I've had this done.  However, I thought this year would be different because I spent a few thousand dollars (or so) on my RNY surgery I thought I could apply that to my deductible. I called my insurance today and they said that only covered procedures could be applied towards my deductible.  I'm like DUH! If my procedure had been covered I wouldn't have to worry about my deductible not being met yet!  I swear I have THEE worst possible insurance in the history of insurance.  I once again sent my HR department an email begging them to get us better insurance.  This is at least the 10th I've sent over the past 5 years in my attempts to get my surgery covered. GRRRRR!

I don't blame you for being frustrated  I'd be downright ticked, too.  At the very least your company could provide a selection.  Maybe if enough employees complain, HR will listen.  Go to it, Norma Rae

I'm so sorry, Tracy    I have been blessed with good insurance through the park district.  That's the plus to a government job, great bennies and job security.  But I'll never get wealthy working there... or a holiday turkey, for that matter.  I'll see you tomorrow night at PNC!!!!  And I'll HUG the snot out of you, too!   (mental note to self....  stuff a few tissues in your pocket...)
