I'm Home.....and hope to stay here!
Well, I just got home from a lovely 24 hr stay at the hospital! The pain in my abdominal/naval area returned Saturday night and steady got more intense on Sunday. I called the doc on Sun about 5pm and she suggested trying the strongest dose of Lortab and an ice pack, so I did, but it did little. So, she agreed to admit me back to the surgical floor for pain mgmt and rehydration.
I checked in about 7 last night, was poked and proded, doped up and drifted off to sleep. The oncall surgeon from the weekend, whom I had spoken with on Thanksgiving and last night cam ein to see me this morning and then Dr Pierce came to see me about 11am.
He agreed that the pain was muscular/skeletal and I just really needed to stay on the pain meds and rest to allow it to heal. He agreed that I probably irritated the area with my big sneeze on Thanksgiving day. He was more concerned with the blood tests from Thursday and wanted them rerun today. He was seriously considering going back in to remove my gallbladder.
He stopped by after clinic today and said the blood work looked a little better today and that he was not convinced that taking the gall bladder out right now was necessary. So, he discharged me with more pain meds and changed me to the puree diet a bit early since I was tolerating liquids just fine. He will see me this week and as well as recheck the blood work next week.
So, needless to say, it has been a bit of a rollercoaster ride emotionally and that would be why I reached out to many of you via text message this after as I truly need prayers lifted up for me right now. I need to encouragement and strength to get past this bump in the road!
Thank you to all for lifting those prayers, please keep them comin'......
Teri

I'm not perfect but I am going to die trying!!!
I have this REALLY profound bookmark up on my bulletin board at work, it says something like...
"An obstacle is what you see when you take your eyes off the goal". So although you need to attend to this pain, it is just a bump. You're on the right side of your WLS, Teri, and once you rest that irritation and start to see the pounds drop off you, you'll KNOW you're in the right place!!!
Prayers for healing coming your way!!! Just remember - "This, too, shall pass!"
LOVE YA!
