My advice to you is to smile and accept her independence.  Then take a photo of her, because you'd love to remember the moment.  Years later, you can show her (or her fiance') the photo.  It'll be a blast.    Yes, my sister truely thought she was hot back in the 70's when she had her tight blonde afro hairdo.  We show her daughter's those pictures and they laugh their freaking heads off!!  My sister, of course, no longer thinks that was hot!

I always held my tongue -- but the hubby and I used to burst out laughing as soon as she left.  Especially when they start doing make up!!!!  It could be worse !!!!

My oldest daughter is 16 and she's always doing something wild and crazy with her hair.. right now it's a cross between a spike and a mullet lol... I just call her my beautiful little porcupine.. I gotta give her props though she wears weird well and always looks cute.

How funny Good luck with that!  That reminds me of when I was a teenager and wanted my hair to  look like an older girl in my school. Her hair was short a little above the ear and bob like. So because I begged and begged my mother finally she did what I asked (my mom is a hairdresser). Oh my goodness what had I done!!!!!!!!! Because, my hair is so curly and thick it certainly did not look anything like this girls hair. My hair was so puffy and so wide it was absolutely embrassing. I have learned that I can never have short hair .

LOL. Rember when your mother probably said the same thing. Did you do the Farrah Facet, or the bowl cut?  Kids are fun!!!

Hugs,

Lori

Isn't it funny that our kids always HATE the way we like them best?   I have the same battle here, Linda...  clothes, hair, eyeliner...  KIDS!  They grow up too fast these days!  I never cared to do anything in particular with my hair or wear any kind of make-up until - well, high school!

Linda,  My wish for you is the strength to hold back the laughter til she leaves the room... I wear a locket that holds pictures of my darling kids, 6 years ago, my son, who is now 19 has naturally almost black hair, his looks like he has flames dancing on his head, orange and red, spiked up to heaven!! my daughter, almost 21, has her naturally chestnut brown hair bleached at the crown, and streaked with hot pink, I wear it close to my heart, and when I have a rough day, I open the locket and laugh my silly @$$ off!!! Oh the joys of parenthood!!!!! One thing...they dont grow out of it...darling daghter came home from cosmetology school last saturday, before dinner with the soon to be fiance's family, with hot pink streaks again!!!! Cant do anything but giggle!!

Betsy
