Thank you so much Amy!!! Your words are well written and very much needed. I am hoping that, by going to HR, this will help the rest of the crew as well. I know there have been others with issues. So............ here I go. Wish me luck! Hugs, Lori

I agree with the others, you do have a lot of supporting evidence to present.  Do the others that you mention, know you are bringing their names into this??  What I mean do you have anyone else that is willing to stand up for you  and back up your evidence?  This may help.  Where did you get your info from about peoples requests??  Did your fellow employees share this with you? Make sure you got your info from reliable, legel sources.  HR will want to know how and where you got it and they may want to talk to these people, if it goes this far.  The other suggestion I have is to be prepared for whatever your manager may retaliate with.  NOW I know that in the MNA regulations, managers cannot retaliate against staff for bringing concerns or issues regarding them to the union or employer.  Since you aren't in the union, I would be prepared for whatever she may throw at you.  Sounds like she is already having an issue and showing favoritism to others and discriminating towards you.  I say this so that you won't be shocked if something happens.  SO I guess I would ask you, are you prepared for the consequences and/or rewards of what you are about to do??  Like having another backup job in case and such. I am praying for you and I do hope you get your time off!!!!  HUGS!

Thanks for your thoughts Lucy! I am prepared for the consequences. I have proof for all I have mentioned. And I have people who will back me up. I believe my strength will help me through this. Thanks for your prayers! Hugs, Lori

Holy crap! I got irritated (on your behalf) reading the whole story, but the end when she made the comment about EAP... that is just shockingly inappropriate!  and RUDE! I hope you get some help from HR today...Keep us posted!

Hi Lori I guess I seen this too Late. My wife has been a supervisor for over 15 years and let me tell you as her confident I have heard it all from employees falling asleep at their desks to to calling in sick and being seen two hours later at a local coffee shop by a fellow employee. I know one of the things that realy upsets her is when they didn't come to her with a problem first and went over her head I think in the long run it just creates more bad blood. From what I have read it sounds like with your surgery and PTO that you took, she sees that as just more time that you have taken off and there may be some resendment there on her part and maybe she thinks she is seeing a pattern and is trying to deny you your right of time off. hence the comment about EPA. I really don't think at this point things are going to change with your supervisior and I agree that the best thing maybe for you to do is look for a different position or a potion with another company. Not sure what you do for work so its hard to determine how they keep their staffing levels. I do feel that you are right to feel the way that you do I know I would. I know we have strick staffing levels for our public safety personnel here at the city. Good Luck and I hope that you can go see your family at Christmas I know how hard it will be if you cannot! Jim

Well at least you realize that and I know how you feel been there done that! the end result is I work in a great place and have a great boss who doesn't stand over me and question what I do. I guess at my age I am so over that! A nurse? good for you that job is hard enough with out being questioned by your supervisor. My nephew who graduates this year is going into nursing. The good part is I think you will have no problem finding work with the demand! Good luck and if they deny your vacation you can come and hang out with us! I hate to see anybody alone on Christmas!

Have a great Thanksgiving

Jim
