Hello! I just recently found this message board and have been lurking, but I have been posting and reading the main and RNY boards for the last several months. I am approved by my insurance, passed all the pre-surgery tests and have an appointment this Wednesday to meet with my surgeon and get my surgery date. I am hoping for a date in December, but if anyone has worked with Methodist please tell me if this is a total dream or if there is a chance it could happen. I have been working toward this since August, but have have been dealing with my weight since I was 10. Hope everyone enjoyed the light dusting of snow this morning!

Welcome to the Minnesota (friendliest) board. And congrats on your journey and being approved. WOOO HOOO -- you are close to being a LOSER!!!! I don't know what the surgeon schedules are for the holiday, but by the end of the year is not unrealistic. I got a 3 week date, while the person in the next appointment got a 4 week date. Both were with Dr. Svendsen too. Surgery dates for him are on Tuesday and Friday. With Christmas on a Tuesday, and then New Year's on a Tuesday, you may be out a bit further. But then again the Friday before each may be open because people don't want the holiday time period. Good luck and be sure you keep us posted on your date!!!!

Thanks that gives me some hope. I wouldn't mind being in the hospital right before Christmas I will have most of m shopping done by the beginning of December and I have no one to decorate for and will be going up to my parent's place to recoup and celebrate...so here's to hoping. Did you like Dr. Svendson? Was he nice? I am worried about meeting him and that I also have a different nurse since Barb is out until mid-December.

Hi Nicole... I also had Dr Svendsen and he was awesome! And don't worry about having another nurse in Barb's absence - they are all great (of course, not as great as Barb, but

...). My surgery date was out 4 weeks from my consult date - but I requested that date. I think I could have gotten a week earlier if I wanted it though. PS - WELCOME!
