I'd like to buy a digital camera and really don't know anything about them.  What type of camera do you have and are you pleased with the quality of the pictures and camera features?  Can you load the pictures to your computer from the camera?

Hi Julie,  I have a Kodak easy share camera (if i could find it) . Its realatively inexpensive and  Its small, but has i think 5x zoom, takes great pictures.  The pics can be loaded to your computer straight from the camera.  I bought mine in a package deal-came with camera and picture printer and transfer cable which enables you to print from camera or transfer to computer.

I bought my parents a Pentax a couple years ago and it is wonderful.  My mom uses it all the time and says it is so easy to use and the pictures are great.  I just happened to be watching QVC last night and they have a sale on the newest model.  Here's the link: http://www.qvc.com/qic/qvcapp.aspx/view.2/app.detail

I don't have one but my sis in law and my step daughter have one and they both have the Kodak.  My step daughter was 13 when she got it and is 15 now and it has been through he** (LOL) and it still works well and takes great pics.  That is the camera that all my pics on here come from.  The only thing is I think that newer ones come with rechargable batteries and that's a good thing.  Batteries (she uses double AA) run down quicker than I would like them to, so if you can get one that recharges it might be better. I see they make those now.  But both my sis in law and my stepdaughter love their cameras!  Hope that helped Kristi

I got a fujifilm from Sams club a couple months ago. It takes the SD and XD cards. The SD cards are MUCH cheaper than the XD cards. Had a camera that took XD and still wanted to be able to access the photos from the other card. I can use either card to take pics, download from camera to pc and also plug into my lexmark standalone photo printer. cost was about $150 with all cables, directions, etc. Happy picture taking, Karen

I bought my Olympus about 5 years ago and have been really happy with it. There are much better ones out now and I plan on getting a smaller one, as the one thing I don't like about mine is it is so big and not really convienent to just put in your pocket!! I plan on upgrading to a Canon Power Shot after the holidays!!  CarolN

Hi Julie, After going from a 35mm SLR camera to a point and shoot digital(that could fit in my pocket), this winter we purchased a digital SLR - Nikon D80.  I LOVE it. Pros - takes absolutely beautiful pictures.  I have taken a few professional sittings for other families with it.  If you'd like to see some of the pictures, PM me with your email and I'll send some samples. I was frustrated with our previous digital that I'd miss a lot of action shots due to the delay.  This camera has no delays and if I hold down the button it will take consecutive pictures - 6 per second.  Great for sporting pictures. I plug the card right into my computer to upload the pictures. More advanced options for those who want more flexibility (ie - manual focus and shutter speed).  But it can also be 100% automatic thus easy to use. Option to add additional lenses for greater zooming. Cons - Costs considerably more than most point and shoot.   Size - no way could this fit in your pocket. Good luck on your quest.  I love taking pictures!

My husband has a D200 which is great but it's big and heavy.  The photo quality and lens options are great however.  I think it may be considered a professional camera, I'm not sure.  I believe it's made by Nikon.
