Anyone know anything about C-Diff
Long story short - I had an abcess tooth and was prescribed amoxicillin on Tuesday of this week. I have had nothing bu****ery stools since I started and it seems to be getting worse. Within 1/2 hour of drinking it is coming out the other end...
I am afraid I am dehydrated and wonder how effective my oral pain meds are for my back as everything seems to be running right through me...
When do I seek medical help?
Hi Robert-
You really need to seek medical attention right away, especially if you think you are dehydrated. Dehydration is nothing to fool around with. Have you been diagnosed having a C-diff infection?
I would definately call the doctor at the least and let them know what is going on and if you are on meds ask if there is another way to get the meds in aside from orally.
Wishing you luck and let us know what happens. Hope you feel better really soon!
Robert:
I had c-diff after my RNY gastric bypass nearly 3 years ago. You do NOT want to mess with c-diff. The test for c-diff can be done in the emergency room. I was severely, dangerously dehydrated and my electrolytes were all out of what. I had three separate hospitalizations for c-diff and an infectious disease specialist had to work with me.
You need to get to the hospital to get tested for c-diff if it's that bad. Feel free to read my blog for more information on c-diff.
