Congratulations!!! You look great. I'm almost 4 years out. The vitamins are important. I drink my protein still when I make bad choices and don't get enough protein during the day.

Today is my 8 yr anniversary. I'm at 180 from 368. My life is better and I'd do it again. My bp is up, my sleep apnea might be back, my teeth are awful and my thyroid levels are bad. But I'm happy, can walk and move again and I love my life. I have had a lot of bumps in the road but I'd do it all over! I welcome all of u to read my profile and take from it what u can.
To all u newbies all I wanna say is research and don't give up. The new life is so worth it all!

Topic: RE: Denied for the 2nd time!!! Need advice PLEASE!!!
I went through the process 3 different times but for denials on the surgeons behalf. I would say write the letter, get documention from every dr you have seen in the last 5 yrs! They need to say what meds they have you on and what for, and how long. Also have them state what advise side effects you've had from the meds. Your appeal will be thick, but this should help you move along. Send pictures if you have them too.
Topic: Denied for the 2nd time!!! Need advice PLEASE!!!
Hi,
I was denied the first time by my insurance company for not having enough physician documented information.Ok fair enough. So my Dr. put me on Adipex,Metformin,Victoza, and Topamax just for weight loss alone. I was on prednisone for a long timelast year and had gained even more weight. So the steroid weight fell off and I lost a little on the pills, but I am so sick all the time from them. Everything was set and they denied me the 2nd time because I lost weight from the pills. Well I was told it was good to lose some weight from the surgeon who was going to perform the surgery. He said it helps prove that I can follow through after surgery. All the other diets failed and even after the weight loss my BMI is 41, and I have sleep apnea, GERD, Fibromyalgia, arthritis, depression, chronic lower back spasms, and anxiety. I am 31 years old and take 15 different meds. How can they say diet drugs are safer than surgery? I can't live on them forever! I have Physicians Care ASR through my job at the hospital. I was told I could write an appeal letter, I am not sure how to go about it and I was wondering if anyone knew any tips on getting through to these people. Thanks- Meg

I am glad you really had a great experience with him and his staff! I already have done everything needed and he is doing my surgery on August 28th, so far I really like him and his staff! I am ready for this!

Dr V was my surgeon, he and his staff are great! Very knowledgeable, and helpful. They are very busy, and if they still have their cancellation list, I would strongly suggest you get on it, if you are able to go to appointments on very short notice.
I'm not real impressed with Health Care Midwest, that is the company they are under. They are always trying to get me to give them a credit card for charges/co-pays. I've heard horror stories about charges that have appeared, so I won't do that. But I do pay my co pays upfront. The worst was a friend that had another surgery, and HCMW charged her credit Card $1000 before she even had a consultation appointment.
That's the business end of it, anyway
I would strongly recommend Dr. V and his staff to anyone!!
Good Luck
