What Sara said. Every policy is different even with the same insurance. My DD had BCBS of another state(forget which) didn't cover sleeve. Switched to BCBS of another state which covered sleeve and needed no diet with her BMI over 50. But, Her Employer specific policy required her to have a supervise diet with a bmi over 50 for three months.
2013: 20 Funny New Year's Resolutions
When it comes to New Year's resolutions, our family members and friends can get quite creative and even funny with what they resolve to do in the New Year. Here a few good ones I have heard along the way...Oh, and a few of my own!
1. I resolve to stop procrastinating about procrastinating!
2. I will stop sending Facebook messages and emails to my loved ones when they are in the same room as I am!
3. I will use my treadmill for something other than a place to hang my jacket.
4. I will not sit at the kitchen table in my PJ's all day. Instead, I will move my computer to my bedroom.
5. I vow to never take a laxative and a sleeping pill on the same night!

I am still in the pre-op process. I've gone through so many hoops and I'm getting a little disheartened! I paid for one program, just to have my surgeon change offices and now I have to pay their fees now too... so there went $700 out the window. I stated this process in December 2011 and I'm a little disappointed. I was considering the RNY, but the office I am with now mentioned the sleeve. I am trying to decide between the two, which is part of the reason why I joined this board, to see what other people thought of the surgeries.
I'm glad to hear that you're happy. What have been your challenges?
It used to be very active here. There was some very active pioneers in researching nutrients and such. I am active on four other boards and two groups too. It really was nice because there didn't use to be so many centers in MI and so lot of the posters where people I could met in person too.
I don't understand why so many of the BEFORE/AFTER photo's are so OLD. There are none that I can find in the last 3 yrs.
I just can't get excited about a before/after photo from 2000 or 2002, sorry and I mean no disrespect.... but all of the boards have very old before/after shots. Am I looking in the wrong place?
Thanks for reading my post.

Bethany hello:
I thought the same thing at first, but then I found out most people go to the other Forum Boards for these type of surgery or to the main Board. I was hoping more Michigan people would participate. So maybe there are not too many people who know about this site. By the way....what type of surgery did you have and when? I had RNY surgery November 16, 2012 at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. I'm happy about it, but every day is still a challenge. How are you doing?

Has anyone had PHP insurance and used Sparrow Weight Management for their surgery?
This used to be a very active board but I'm not sure what happened to make it go almost dormant.
