I know good support groups are hard to find... Have you tried going through the "search" feature? Go as if you are looking for a bariatric surgeon, put in the zip code, then click on a surgeon close to you and see if they have support groups listed (you will find them under "Meetings")? What is your zip code? Maybe I can help you?
I have had one consult and got the "your surgery is deemed medically necessary" from the insurance so I'm just waiting to hear how much they pay and how much I have to pay out of pocket. I have also scheduled a second opinion with another who has 30 years of experience working with insurance companies to get them to pay more. I wanted to get an apples to apples opinion on what will be done..
going to Grand Health Partners in Grand Rapids for consultation but if insurance don't pay anything then I'm not going. It's the same place I went thru for my sleeve 4 years ago. Wished someone could tell me if BCBS of MI pays towards a tummy tuck??? Anyone???

I'm originally from battle creek, Unfortunately my surgeon moved to Maine to start a bariatric program for a surgical group there about a year after my surgery so she will be of no help.
I have heard great things about the group in Grand Rapids. I'll let you know if I hear of a good option a little lower in the state. Rich

I'm on the east side and was wondering about this as well. Years ago I went to one in Kalamazoo which was held at the Bronson Hospital one a month. Most involved were very good and helpful people.

Hi Julie:
Nothing yet. My consult is a week from tomorrow. I'm heading in to see what angles I can approach this with. I figure they can tell me what they've had the best luck with as far as billing codes etc with BCBS.
Hopefully I'll have good news to report.
How's your situation progressing????? Rich
Hi Rich, what did you find out on the tummy tuck procedure using BCBS? Do they help pay or is it considered cosmetic and don't pay anything towards it?
