I had lap rny surgery in 2007. I now have almost full regain. I have mediCARE and may be approved for medicAID here in the next couple of weeks.
I had surgery at Hurley in flint with a surgeon that is no longer there and my primary doc's staff doesn't allow appointments to be made with him. I haven't seen him in nearly three years.
I had an upper GI and have not been able to get the results.
I need help finding a doctor desperately. I called McLaren bariatric and they won't even see people who have already had surgery without a referal from a primary.
I don't know who to go to. Any recommendations please?
Hello Michigan friends, doing ok here, even made it to the gym today, it is beautiful outside and I need to be out there so heading outside.

All went great Saturday. The Dr was great and spent a very long time with me. I already knew of his work and he's pretty much an artist (which I need, lol). It looks like they have insurance approval for my hernia which I expected. They also got the Panni approved which was a great relief. I developed a sudden major rash the day of consult. He also brought up a "medical necessity" to do my chest area which will tighten up the upper body. This was an unexpected nice surprise. I will pay extra to have him extend the waist incisions which will go about 80% around, extend the vertical incision and to lipo and do general sculpting to insure a very good result. I was given a very good price for all of that. He also promised a great price do due to having the other work done on my arms when I do that. (I'll follow up pretty quick on that) and also the upper thigh area if there is any unwanted skin left after pulling them up when doing the lower pelvic area during the initial surgery. Time for the surgery is expected to be about 6 hours with a 2-3 day stay in the hospital afterwards. I've both knees replaced this spring so there will be no deductible or co pays for any of this. Very Very happy with how it all turned out after being nervous as hell going in. Not with the surgeon at all. Just with the insurance as you never know how that will go.
Surgery date is October 13th!

I guess the first question is "has she always been this way" or is is this new behavior? I know in my case I did get a divorce and I heard she was telling everyone it was because I lost 225 pounds and ran off and found someone else (she had a severe weight issue as well). I had one of our mutual friends relate this to me. My response was, "if that was true then how come it was 6 years after I had lost the weight"? My wife has always had emotional and anger issues. I didn't leave her I just got tired of being thrown out constantly for no reason. Then of course she wouldn't let me leave afterward. This started right after the marriage and our divorce was final 6 months before what would have been our 25th anniversary.
This is more her issue with herself than with you (unless you've given her reason to really believe this will happen"? She needs to get in a better place with herself. You can't be happy with someone unless your happy with yourself first. You are right in that if she keep nagging, accusing and pushing this may fracture the marriage beyond repair. You can tell her you never thought of that before she mentioned it but you still have no desire to leave you and why would you, right? Just reassure her on your feeling and maybe see if she wants to go talk to someone about her insecurities. Good luck!!! Rich

I've got BCBS of MI PPO. There are so many variations to the same basic policy. I'll just have to see how it all plays out.
I have BCBS of Tx. It's thru my work. Not sure how much they will cover, but it's a start!
