Drink of the morning for me SF Hot Chocolate with some french vanilla creamer. I haven not posted very much to the board, but feel that I should start.
My journey is now in the 26th year. I had my surgery January 25 1985 and alot has gone on during those years. Anemia was the biggest and now kinda have that under control. I had a kidney transplant (nothing to do with weight loss surgery) 4 years ago, so now my biggest concern is the new kidney and not weight loss. I will make it to oner-land in a few months. I gained 80+ pounds with the transplant due to the massive amount of prednisone that I take daily. I have worked on the weight slowly and it will continue to go down.
What everyone has to remember is that it did not take you 6-12 months to gain the weight you did, so don't expect to lose all the weight in less than a year. Don't get discouraged, if you fall off the wagon, get back on it tomorrow.
Would I do the surgery again...yes I would. The hospital stay would be short (my time was 11 days) and the surgery is so much more advanced. And yes, my tool still works. Things still get stuck and I still dump. But it is the best thing I have ever done.
Thanks for the tips on which ones to try!! I won't be able to make the meeting Tuesday night because I have a hair cut/color appointment. I am hoping to make the Feb meeting.

Oooo.. check it out! My Cinnamon Roll flavor is on sale for $12/box. I'm ordering!
I also have the little filter thingie where you can put your own coffee grounds in the cup rather than buying the k-cups. It's way cheaper, of course. But that little basket is a big pain in the butt.
I also have one of those k-cup carousels that sit on the counter next to my coffee maker.
If you don't have any in your sampler pack -- definitely try the Chai Latte and the Hot Chocolate. If you're coming to the meeting on Tuesday I can give you samples of these two. I also have some Emerial Bold Vanilla that I don't like very much and can share some of that with you (it's too bold for my tastes).

School is about to start up again for the semester next week. Not looking forward to having a Saturday class that's 90 minutes away from home and my Thursday night class is going to cut into my Grey's Anatomy time. Thankfully the head of the graphics department is working with me on a special project for this term's publication-design class and I may be able to tackle a personal project that has been on the back burner for a while rather than the planned class assignments.
I've got a big week next week. I've been asked to speak at the Hurley Support Group meeting on Monday night and then we have the Bay City support meeting on Tuesday night. Meeting friends on Wednesday and then Thursday is the start of school again. Friday is free, then most of Saturday will be taken up with school (class is 9a-1p in Auburn Hills, so won't get home until 2:30 or so - yuck!).
My WLS journey?
At 3 years out I've noticed a decided change in my journey -- life is so much less about WLS now than it used to be. The WLS stuff has just become a part of my daily routines and is part of who I am, so now I no longer have to focus all of my energy and attention on being a WLS patient and can just live my life like a normal person. There's never a day I forget about my WLS, but most days it's definitely not the focus.

I started this journey at 281.4 pounds and am currently at 156.2. I still have about 10 more to go to get to my goal. It's been difficult because I have a medical condition that doesn't work well with exercize, but I do what and when I can.
I am having private sessions with RN who is also a group leader here on OH and a registered life coach. I paid fo 2 months up front so we will see what happens.
I have recommitted myself to get back on track with my supplements and food. I do not experience dumping and had a really hard time staying away from the Christmas cookies.
I don't know how to make protein coffee; the liquid would be too hot and just make it clumpy. YUCK! Maybe there is a trick to it that I'm not aware of. Anyway, what is in my coffee cup this morning is coffee and hazelnut creamer.
It's cold out there this morning folks; bundle up!

My current favorite is the Dunkin Donuts Cinnamon Roll coffee. I make a fake latte right in my kitchen. I heat up 6 ounces of milk, add about 1 tablespoon sf vanilla syrup, then froth the milk with my areolatte thingie -- then add the brewed coffee to the milk. SOOOOO good!

I hope I can share my experiences with people in the future too.
