Good luck with your surgery, I am doing mine on the same day in Lansing at Sparrow Hospital.  Excited but nervous.  I see my surgeon for the last time this coming Wednesday.  Prepping my last list of pre-op questions.  If you have any questions it would be good to see if I missed any.  I am most worried about my daily meds.

3.  What’s your favorite (be honest!) way to pass the time when the power’s out? filling the generator and kerosene heater.
4.  Of the field trips you remember taking in elementary school, which was your favorite? I went to Bell Isle to see the German U boat that was captured in the great lakes when it was on it way to the Chicago navy Pier. I sat on a bench out side to eat my polish sausage sandwich my momma packed me and the Captains dog came out and snatched it from my hands. Being a little first grader I was crying So the Captain had his first mate go get me a lunch from one of the local food courts. 40 yrs later as I was visiting the inside exhibit at the Chicago Science and Industry museum I was looking at pictures of the journey of the boat up the great lakes to the museum and there was a picture of the Captain and his dirty little dog tied on a lease next to that very same bench I was eating lunch on. I shouted out to my family who have heard the story many time. "That's the dog that stole my lunch!" Of couse all the people who did not know me or my story thought I was nuts! LOL

  Mustard and Mayo. Icky icky icky

4.  Of the field trips you remember taking in elementary school, which was your favorite? The Shrine Circus. Didn't care much for the circus but loved the elephant ears!

 Mayo for hair conditioner. Yuck!

I remember when we did our Greenfield Village field trip, we spent part of the day in the one room school house learning like the kids did way back when.... We also dressed up like in the early 1900's.... My mom made me a costume like Laura Ingalls from Little House on the Prairie and even made me a tin can lunch bucket....  It was sooooo much fun.....
