Topic: Flint Support Group meeting - TONIGHT
Hello all

I've been asked at the last minute to fill in for tonight's support group meeting at Hurley in Flint. Hurley is one of those bariatric clinics who welcome ANY patient, no matter where you had your surgery. So if you're looking for a cool meeting tonight, c'mon out!

I'll be unveiling a chapter in my nearly-completed book. Only those who attend tonight will get a copy of Chapter 5 - it won't be available online anywhere and the next time it's distributed will be when the book goes on sale! Exciting, huh?

Here's their address:
2700 Robert T. Longway Boulevard Suite H  Flint, Michigan 48503

Meeting starts at 5:30 p.m.!

Hope to see you there!
Pam

you should be practicing drinking your water through out the day. Try sugar free drink mixes. like koolaid and crystal lite. since your on a diuretics (water pill) you need more than 64 oz a day.
When your diet changes it can effect your BP and the meds might need to be adjusted.

You should be told what to expect and what meds to take after your surgery by your doctor.
Also anti depressants. need to monitored when your diet changes.

You should call your medical provider and be safe this is no time to have incidents that could post pone your surgery or THREATEN YOU LIFE. That is what we pay them the big bucks for. And they have had experience with these and many more issues.

As ALWAYS: FOLLOW YOUR DOCTORS ORDERS 1ST!

Thanks for the condolences Mary.  It was nice you signed the guest book.  its amazing the things they do online these days.  It will be a few days before the true feelings set in and its all absorbed.  we loved Papa.  He was the only grandparent my daughter has known. :(

Well I have a bunch, I am doing 2 different meds for the high end of my BP and one that is also a water pill that lowers the bottom number of my BP (I think this one concerns me most in my need to stay hydrated especially post surgery next week).
There is the cholesterol med, and a anti depressant that smooths the edge off of a hormone balance.
Then there is Fish Oil, Niacin, Multi Vitamins, and B supplements along with iron supplement.    I am still not a great sipper of water, I am working on it and get my right amounts, but still gulp it down some.
I will contact the Dr's office tomorrow, her office has been great in answering questions.

Thanks for your help...

I am not sipping thru the day, but definitely getting 64+ oz. of water per day.  I am still pre-surgery so it's not the gas.  But it is a topic of conversation for my doc.  I will call her office tomorrow.
Thanks for your thoughts.

What meds are you taking
You may also be in need of  chcinging the dosages because of your new life style.
Are yo gatting in your protein grams per day and drinking your 64 oz of water.
You shaould call your surgeon It is better safe than sorry. could be your body reaciting to the low calorie diet your on now.
but check with your doctor for sure.

You might be getting dehydrated.  Are you sipping throughout the day (in addition to your protein shakes)?  Also, the achiness could still be from the gases they us during surgery.  Walking as much as possible will help alleviate the achiness/pressure.  It could also be due to your meds.  Not much help, am I?  Bottom line, when in doubt, call your surgeon's office!

Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!

I am now 8 days out from surgery and have been on protein shakes for 2 weeks.  I have days where I am light headed to the point I have to lean on counters and my upper back and shoulders ACHE big time.  It only feels better when I sit down and support my head.  It isn't every day, but I was wondering if anyone has reported similar symptoms,  What would the cause be?  I have a lot of daily meds and supplements I take, so I am concerned that it may be related to several contributing factors.  Any thoughts???
