I am doing well, but have been in a stall for my weight loss for about two months. I think I might be starting to move down, but it is soooo slow.... I have to make 4 oreo pies tonight for my boys to have for their robotics team lunch tomorrow. I plan to go to a support group meeting tomorrow at U of M - the topic is stress and relaxation, I think that is good for me! I also plan to go to Trader Joe's to get more dried fruit with no sugar added so I can make my own trail mix, I also get the sugar free chocolate covered almonds.
Thanks Rose!!!! I will definitely check him out.... I Have two consults scheduled now for next week. Maybe I can squeeze in a third, LOL.... I want to check out all my options....
Thanks again!

Shawn: I went with Dr. Hing out of St. Joe's in Ann Arbor and he and his staff are fantastic. I had a panniculectomy. I was lucky enough to have BCBS through my job. The only thing I had to pay out of pocket was $1,000.00 for him to tighten my stomach muscles. Apparently that part was not part of the panniculecotmy procedure. So I could have chosen not to do it. I had read posts where people did not get that extra tightening and regretted it later, so I paid it and got it done. It was worth every penny. I have had seven babies, and Dr. Hing took off between 13 and 14 lbs of skin and fat. I can't tell you how much better I feel.
However, I don't know how much the whole thing would be out of pocket. I believe his office info is on this website. Give him a call!

Take care, Mary!!

After the seminar the doctors answered questions and they told me no on the second hand smoke.
The quit smoke had to be my 1st priority. My primary doc prescribed Chantix and it worked like a charm. It is recommended for like 90 days, but I was good to go after 30. Warning: Side effects include wild vivid dreams!
I went to the surgeons and they wanted six months of clear nicotine pee tests for go ahead on surgery. They wrote me a scrip to go to a lab for the tests. Each doctor is a little different as are the insurance companies so talk to both. They should both give you a list of what the pre-req's are so you can work through the checklist. Trust me when I say that there are plenty of hoops to jump through and can't be done overnight. But then I didn't get this way overnight either, so sticking with it is the test!
Good luck with it...
Well, yesterday I called and set up my consult with Dr. DiNick for my tummy tuck. It will of course depend on the cost and if insurance will cover it, to when I actually get it done. I am really hoping to be able to get it done sometime in April though. Keeping my fingers crossed that I can get it done.... My appointment is for next Wednesday. I can't wait. I want this loose skin GONE!!!!!
Does anyone have any feedback on what dr. they used and the cost? I am in the Ann Arbor/Brighton area and don't want to really travel too far for this procedure. Any input would be greatly appreciated.... Thanks so much....
