I know I already told you this on the PS board, but Dr DiNick did my TT at Barix. When I had my BL/BA it was done at this office in Novi - state of the art facility.
The reason the TT was at Barix was because that was a covered facility for my insurance (which paid for the panni, I upgraded to the TT). The BL/BA at Novi because it wasn't covered by insurance and cheaper. His staff was great there too. The nursing staff at Barix was awesome. I was the only plastics person there and they were so supportive and encouraging and had nothing but kudos for Dr DiNick.
But - I think its great you are getting 3 consults. You definitely need to pick the surgeon that fits you best.

Did you see his commercial for his Brookside office? I was surprised that he opened it already. I would rather go thru Forest View (Barix) because the nursing staff was amazing and they were sooo familiar with the procedure and what we need post op.
I heard Dr. Hing is pretty good too. He works out of Forest View but does his followup at St. Joes in AA. I am not sure what his out of pocket is though. You may want to make a separate post for him.
Good Luck!

Back on track today. It's a little scary how easy it is to fall back into those habits. I didn't feel much restriction, which is why I suppose they were "slider" foods! I also felt just fine.
On the flip side, the world didn't end. It was only one evening and I'm back on track today.
I have been ready and waiting to weigh less than my husband, and I'm so close! lol He is 5 ft 10..and weighs 217...I'm stuck at 225. I really just want to be able to say that I weigh less than him..
Hi Jean,
Those oreo pies sound good :-)! I have been off track a lot lately. Well not really off track, just not really paying attention to what I'm eating. I want to start being more disciplined like I used to be because I can see some of my bad habits creeping back in. I had my yearly physical last week and I am down one pound from where I was at this time last year. BUT, I'm up about 10 lbs from my lowest I had gotten to, so I guess I'm experiencing the 'bounceback' . That really bugs me!
I had lunch with my daughter yesterday and WOW, she is doing great. She hit the 110 lb lost mark this weekend. I am so happy for her and proud of her. And my two boys who had surgery in December are both down over 80 lbs each!
Sorry to hear about your stall, that can be frustrating!
Take care,
Nan

I know there is plenty of us...
Just a thought...
I am relatively new to the site and only 5 days post op, so I am still stuck at home and having my liquid diet. It sure has given me time to look around. I have found some really neat things. I have read a book written right here in the Mid-Michigan area called "The Real Skinny on Weight Loss Surgery". It just shares the experiences of a couple of ladies who underwent a RNY and their journey along with information from other varied sources.
Then while getting bored with my shakes I found another site from a chef that underwent weight loss surgery and how he is now commited to writing a free newsletter on great food and recipes for those of us that crave breaking a flavor rut. The link for him is: http://www.chefdave.org.
So back to your original question, I'm trying to get more and more informed about everything I can dealing with weight loss surgery. I studied it for years in advance and thought I was pretty well informed. Now I realize I only scratched the surface.
Have fun this weekend though!
God Bless,
