I have been working with a weight control center for all of my insurance requirements. This week I received clearance and a referral to see the surgeon! My surgical consult is scheduled on 6/16 and then we schedule surgery! I'm so excited. It feels like this is starting to happen for real now!

Went to ER for the severe abdominal pain I have been having.
Xray showed an ileus.
I was rehydrated told to go NPO and call my PCP in the A.M., which I did. I was told to stay on clear liquids and keep my appointment with the gastro guy next week. Mind you I am in horrible pain and still bloated.
I worry about an strangulation of the intestine.
Feel like I am not being listened to nor does the doctor care.
Hello Carla,
My Gastric Bypass Dr. has retired and I am see Dr. Schram in Holland MI.
He has no idea where to go from here. I will be seeing his assistant next week.
I have also been going to a Gastro guy and I put a call into him today because I can't handle the pain.
I've had every test imaginable. Nothing is coming right out and saying "Hey! this is the problem" . I wiil keep plugging along. Next step will be U of M in Ann Arbor.
Have you called your Gastric Bypass Dr? That would be my first step. Im 12 years out also. Im having issues with weight gain. They are testing me for adhesions fistula and such.

I am 12 yrs. out from an open RNY and am having major abdominal pain after eating and I bloat as if I am pregnant. This has been going on for 13 weeks now and I have had every test under the sun and they have all come back normal or negitive.
I feel this is gastric bypass related and that I may need a revision or at least have someone go in and take a look.
I have lost weight not intentionally. Do not eat much due to the fact it hurts.
My bowels are very smelly and I have diarehaa often, many times a day.
I am tired, hungry, and at a lost as to what to do.
My vision has changed twice within 9 months.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Has anyone here recently, in the past 2 years, been approved for a second wls (after lap band removal) with Medicare? I was getting everything set up, purchased a BCN plan in the Marketplace (Obamacare) as a second policy and thought I was homefree. Then, my Medicare card shows up in the mail. I am in my 50's but on disability for spine issues so that made me eligible. then I find out BCN wouldn't have approved me anyway because of the once in a lifetime clause.
I really need to hear something GOOD for a change. I am set to have the band removed, have a date and approval thru BCN. But I have to be on Medicare in August so they are my only saving grace.
Now I am finding out that I am probably going to have trouble with Medicare for the same reason.
He is my Dr. and I get to have my EDG tomorrow morning. I am nervous today !
I'm coming to this discussion a couple of years late, lol. I'm hoping that some of you are still here and listening. I just found out that I was approved for psych eval through mcLaren bariatric. I am also a healthplus HMO member and I'm nervous about my chances of having the surgery itself approved. About how long after the psych eval will I know if I'm approved? What steps follow the psych eval? Te way that healthplus has me going about this is so full of unknowns. I feel like I'm groping in the dark for a light switch here.
Welcome High on faith! I'm in the pre-op process too and hoping for a summer surgery.
