Topic: Plastics in MI? Who did you use? Recommendations?

Hi, I'm coming home for xmas and want to have my plastics done while I'm there - TT, upper/inner thigh lift, mons lift/lipo and lipo of the back/flanks - for starters;-)

Anyone out there had a good dr for a TT?  I've done a lot of research and narrowed it down to Dr. Ali in Bloomfield Hills and Dr. Hainer in North Oakland County - but I would be willing to travel outside of the Detroit area - and would love a recommendation from here!

Thanks!

Hi

Try to relax and let the nurses take care of you.   I slept the day away after my surgery and was awake about 9 or 10 at night , walking.  I don't know about you but I was on my own when I got home so I did what the Dr said in the hospital and let them take care of me.

Good wishes coming your way, see you on the loser's bench

Harper is in Detroit.  Its a long four hour drive for me, so I'm getting dropped off.  My parents are watching my children, so I won't be getting any visitors because it will be too hard for them to travel to see me (with the kids in school.)  I hope to only be in for about 2 or 3 days but they said with open ds, anywhere from 2 - 5 days is still considered "normal."   I dread being there any longer than 2!

MotivatedMomma,

Good luck to you.  It will be ok on Monday.  Where is Harper DMC?  I was also very nervous before my surgery on Oct 6th, I don't know what to tell you I just had to ride it out.  The morning before surgery they can give you something to calm you down.

Hi

I'm from Portage, MI.  I  had my RNY on October 6, 2014 with Dr. Weaver at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.  They have set up support groups for bariatric patients at the Hospitals (Bronson, and Borgess they each have 2 meetings per month and you can go to either place.  I go and find it helps.

Thanks for posting

My surgeon was Dr. Weiner's former partner. They split ways a few years back.

Hi Mary.   I am pasting a note that I posted here just a few minutes ago.  It's good to see you!

I am in process of a revision to a RNY. I have esopageal dysplasia from reflux, and will need an ablation to destroy the unhealthy tissue some time after the revision surgery. I spent so many years telling my former surgeon that something was wrong with this band, only to be prescribed Prilosec 40 mg twice a day. I wanted to badly for this darned band to work that I ignored the obvious signs of problems.

I am scared but optimistic. Maybe once I have my revision I will come back to the boards, but for now I just want to try and maintain (I am hovering around 200 pounds) and get my health in order.

I am so glad to see that you are still doing well.

I am in process of a revision to a RNY at Huron Valley with Matthew Weiner. I am scared but optimistic. Maybe once I have my revision I will be more active on the boards, but for now I just want to try and maintain (I am hovering around 200 pounds) and get my health in order.

Not much happening in Michigan. I have no support groups close by. You'd think that being one of the fattest states, we'd have more support!

Who is everyone's surgeon? Where did /will you have surgery? I had Dr. Webber out of Harper Hospital six years ago.
