Big Un-wow

Went out to dinner with dad tonight. His treat, he chose Outback because he knows I love steak and have a limited amount of time to eat full meals. The hostess led us to a booth in nonsmoking and I couldn't fit. No small tables in nonsmoking, had to walk right back out their door, past several hostesses while trying not to bawl. I guess the positive is that it may have made him better understand why I need this surgery. I didn't want their dumb steak anyway.

One time I was getting in booth and it was too small(as they all were). My stomach hit the corner and I had a hug, black bruise from trying to squeeze in. We do know your pain. Steak is over rated anyway.

I know the feeling all to well myself...I always ask for a table because I can't fit in the small booths...I always hated them even when I did fit because my boobs were always in my plate! So yes there are others that know how you feel!! Hugs Judy

Dear, dear Jane! We understand completely!! We've all been there, done that. But just know in about 3 months you will be sliding right in, and eventually you will actually be TOO FAR away from the table to eat comfortably in a booth! Now isn't that hysterical! Crazy! Just know we all understand here! Best of luck to you on your journey! Theresa

Keep your chin up sweet girl! We have all been there, did that, and totally understand where you are coming from. But - these embarrassing moments will be coming to an end soon. I think I read that your WLS is scheduled for later this month - I am already dusting off your place on the losers bench with the rest of us! I have personally had the very same experience as you did. Now (I have lost about 111 lbs. since my surgery last July) when ever I go into a restaurant or someplace that has booths I always look for the tiniest one around and sit there! Haven't been "squeezed out yet!" And if I eventually do run in to one too small - oh well, just another goal to work toward. Keep us posted on your progress! Hugzzzz, Pam
