CITRACAL OR VIACTIV

I bought both Viactiv chews and Citiracal chews. One has 3 grams of sugar and the other has 4 grams of sugar. I've seen them mentioned here on the boards, are these the right ones or do they come sugar free? I'm wondering if I should just take them back and get the tablets??? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 17 DAYS TO LOSER LAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My NUT says no to the Viactive because they are calcium CARBONATE..... but I ignore her and take them anyhow. We're suppose to take the CITRATE...... absorbition is better I guess. So I just take two. Now, don't do as I do, do as your NUT or Surgeon tells you to do. Sheryl In the Zoo

Ok we got that far, now I need to know if the citracal (with 4 grams of sugar) is ok post op, Will the sugar make you dump???

I doubt it BUT if I recall correctly, I wasn't to take my calcium until about 2 or so weeks out. Day 2 they were giving me for liquids skim free milk with carnation instant bfast and just the milk alone had more sugars in it than that Citracal. I did dump on that, but most don't. The 3 or 4 grams should be fine. Sheryl In the Zoo

I did take the citracal chewables for awhile until I ran out of them. Now I'm taking countyline, which are the ones Dr. Wood recommends. I can't remember if they had 4 g sugar or not and I'm not home to check them. But I didn't dump. Jeanne

Hi Jeanne I did get the County Life Maxi hair vitamins on line. Where did you find the calcium??? Also where did you get your multi vitamin. I was going to wait to get mine @ the office. ~~Simone

I didn't see the County Life Hair Vitamins where I got them, but I got both the chewable Multi Vitamins and the Calcium at the Better Health Store. The one I bought from is at 12 Mile and Schoenherr. There are others in the area. They also have the best price for Isopure liquid drinks. I much prefer the Centrum Silver and the Citrical for the taste. Jeanne

Hi, I have been taking Viactiv's for 3 years now, they are wonderful and taste to me like candy! YUM. The dietician at Beaumont where I had my surgery suggested them, they do not come sugar free. Best of luck Robin

hey diva 10 more days till your surgery i bet your so nervious..you can get all the vitamins at a place called nutrifoods in royal oak.. one of the owners husban has had the micropouch and she keeps all the good stuff in stock for the gastric bypass shopper..its a helth food store not a vitamin place theirs a difference..they also sell lots of foods that are great and the prices rock.
