Bay City Support Group
Hi Dora...I am in the process of having WLS and was wondering if this support group is for anyone to go to. And also is this just for after WLS people? Where is Ruby Tuesday located in Bay City and what time is the meeting? I can't make it this time because of prior commitment, but I would like to go to the next one if its open to people before they have WLS.
Thanks for this information!!
Judy
You sure are welcome. The group consists of people in all phases of WLS. I went to a support group in Midland for a whole year before all my testing, waiting, waiting, waiting, and finally getting my surgery date. I gained a lot of information from others who had gone through the surgery. About two months before surgery I found obesityhelp.com and went there daily (sometime two or three times a day) before and after surgery. The open discussions disclose so much information and you find answers for problems before you have them (if you do have them). I think I was more prepared for any discomforts or what I thought might be unusual things happening because of support groups and obesityhelp.com. Nothing was unexpected.
Ruby Tuesday's is across the street from the Bay City Mall and we meet at 6:30 p.m. There are several people who work, therefore we meet a little later. They have a wonderful salad bar, delicious soup, as well as all of their meals and sandwiches.
I'm not sure if the group is meeting this Wednesday or not. I'm holding the day open and waiting to hear. Sometimes the date is changed for some reason; but usually I can't make the make-up date due to a prior commitment.
We will be looking for you next month.

Dora,
I talked to Toni this weekend and we are for sure meeting Wednesday night at Ruby Tuesday's. She is going to talk to us about finding a better place to meet after this month. Soooo if you have any ideas that would be great. Glad to hear from you and I really hope to see you on Wednesday.

Hi to all that have replied to my question about the support group...I will be there next month...but if its changed to a new location...how will I know where to go?? It really sounds like alot of fun with you all!! I have been checking out obesityhelp.com now since february and I have found so many nice people willing to help and answer questions. I have no fear of having this surgery at all and I am well prepared for the good and the bad. The only thing I have a fear of is the gas (smells) after surgery. I work with the public and I would be so embarassed if I slipped one out...lol but I am sure you know what I mean.
Thanks again for the answer....hope to see you all next month!!
