Support Groups
Hi Everyone,
I live in Dearborn Hts and I am 5 weeks post RNY. I have been looking for a support group near me. I only see that there are support groups on a monthly basis. Does anyone know of a support group in about a 10-15 mile radius that meets on a weekly basis or a bi-monthly basis. I feel that once a month is not enough.
Would anyone be interested in a Bariatric Support Group that would meet on a weekly or bi-monthly basis. If so maybe we can start one. So anyone that is in the Dearborn Hts, Dearborn, Westland, Taylor, Redford, Garden City, Livonia or Inkster area, please respond and lets see what we can do....
I would be happy to have people at my house and maybe we can alternate. Any ideas or suggestions anyone!!!!

I am 1 week post op and there is going to be a support group meeting in Taylor at the mall on May 18th. It will be our 1st get together. That being said, I think I would like to meet at at leat twice a month - esp this early out, already I feel soo conflicted when Im around food. I think it would be a great help to me. I live in Grosse Ile, about 20 minutes from Dearborn - but I would be willing to drive up there. We go to Greenfield Village all the time so I never think of it as a long drive. What do you think?

I was so glad to hear from you. Congratulations on your surgery. Its tough, I know, but I believe in the long run it will be worth it!!!
I've been having a hard time but I am determined. Nothing tastes good to me and I gag at everything. I was never a gagger before the surgery but I certainly am now. I know it will get better and I just keep putting one foot in front of the other. I was 403 when I had my surgery 7 weeks ago and i am down 56 pounds and do feel so much better.
So the meeting on Friday, I definitely would like to come. Is it at Southland Mall? Where in the mall and at what time.
