hey Everyone
I have to work tomorrow from 9-5. Bummer. But people have to eat ya know. I might be able to get out early if I am really really lucky.
Tomorrow night I am having the inlaws over to help my DH with some bricks we redid in the front of the house. And I might do some more moving around of my plants.
Sunday I plan on going a little bit of laundry and nothing much. I have a day off, and I need to rest before my week begins. Next Friday I am heading out to Novi for the Scrapbook Show at Rock Financial. I cannot wait!!!!!!!!! I have to rest up before then!
I hope everyone has a great weekend!!

I have no plans, yet. My Dad brought me home to Grandville until my next appointment with Dr. Wood on the 12th. Then he left with the trailor for the Gem and Mineral Show in Kalamazoo for the weekend. Not bad for an 87 year old youngster.
My brother and sister-in-law left for a Sports Car Event in South Haven for 3 days.
I'd love to see the tulips in Holland but don't want to go alone.
So I guess I'll just walk and work on the sweater I just started.

Stacey,
Cleaning house on Sat. in the morn & afternoon, evening spending some time with my family ( my great- nephew in particular). Sunday to Mass, graduation ceremonies for U of M, as my niece is graduating with degrees in art and teaching, then to a celebration dinner for her. Your weekend sounds like a great time!!!!!!!!!
Enjoy,
Phyllis Gilbert
Hi everyone! Well bright and EARLY in the morning, DH and I are going to work out at the YMCA. Then I have warned everyone - we are CLEANING - as in DEEP cleaning. I expect and from the children and from DH but I really want to deep clean and shampoo carpets. It makes me everytime I look around. I also have one child's hair to take down, wash and re-braid.
Then in the afternoon we're taking the kids to the Kalamazoo Valley Museum for a few hours (can you say AFTER ) and then dinner. I want everything done so that I can relax Saturday night - that is right after I finish typing some notes for the pastor.
Sunday we have to be at church early because we work in the nursery this weekend. Sunday afternoon = yard work unless I can convince DH to help me paint. It may require on my part. Later that afternoon / evening we're bbqing.
Ok, I'm officially tired already.

Saturday morning my Mom is coming over and helping me set up for company. I have a girlfriend who does purse parties and she'll be at my house from noon to six... I have friends from Flint, Lansing, Linwood, Chesaning and Owosso coming over throughout the day. I like doing this to help her out and for the entertainment... these women who come to shop are crazy! Regardless... it is always a good time when I spend it with my Mom. DH is heading out bright and early (he wants no part of dealing with women and purses) to visit his guy friends in Lansing. My best friend is coming to spend the weekend with me... Life is GOOD! Mom... best friend... crazy friends buying purses... should make for a great weekend! My best friend is researching WLS and we are anxious to catch up on what we've both been up to.
On Sunday we plan on going to services at 10:45 and then working in the yard. I have a few flower beds I want to move around.
Other than that... I plan on enjoying the quiet... Next week I have Jury duty... yee haw!!!

This morning (Saturday) I am heading into the lab at 8 am to have my blood drawn for lab work! Woohoo! Last step before papers get sent to BCBS!!!! After that we are heading to Flint to the Salvation Army store to look at some cribs and headboards for my benches. Then, if I cannot find the precise headboard this lady is dying to have a bench from, we will head to the Oakland County Salvation Army stores (made DH call them to find which had cribs and twin headboards to make our trip a bit easier). After that we will probably stop in to see one of best friends in West Bloomfield. And finally land home sometime tonight. Here's hoping the 2 year old does not want to watch Mo (Nemo) on the way home and NOT FALL ASLEEP!!!
On Sunday morning I will be at work from 6 am until noon. Then come home and work on the yard. I am so sick of how it looks!! I hate spring...atleast until all the landscape looks good and the plants are out!!! The landscape needs weeded so I can put the weed barrier down and then put in the new trees and replace the bushes from the ones that did not make it last year. Hoping I can talk DH to get some mulch to put down on the weed barrier and get the landscape up to snuff! DH just has to have pictures of his Firebird to send to Overhaulin' (we have a 1968 Pontiac Firebird Convertible which he is/has been trying to restore for many years...but it's still not done). So he is going to have a few buddies come over while I am at work and move it out of the garage. Here's hoping Overhaulin' picks him!!!!

P.S. Those in the Mt. Pleasant area - have you heard of Talsma's for your summer flowers and hanging baskets??? I get my Wave Petunia hanging baskets from there - HUGE!!! And I do mean HUGE! Three for $25.00.
Stacey tell me more about Hopewell Ranch. I love doing volunteer work for handicap riding programs. Have done it in both Oakland & Livingston Counties and am looking for some place to do it closer to Shiawassee County. -- Thanks
As for me well it will be the first weekend in 3 that I have had time off so after grocery shopping, mowing the lawn etc I am finishing the installation of my garden. That means hauling rock, soil etc but I love it as now being a post-oper I have energy like I haven't had in years. It is so great!
Tomorrow is church and then lunch with the "ladies" after services. Being the younin' of the group (I am soon to be 54) it always is a good and interesting gab fest.
Hope everyone enjoys themselves this weekend!

HOPEWELL RANCH:
What I know is that this is a working ranch, that has at present 9 horses and ponies, goats, rabbits and other animals (I myself took right to the horses) that provides a place for children of all ages to come and be with the animals in a "therapeutic" way for their lives.
I believe their intent is to provide a caring and nurturing place for kids who may have disabilities, are mentally impaired, physically impaired, or have a need of some kind and this offers them an outlet to have some fun and be with the animals in a supervised environment. I know that this coming week a couple children will be out there that are from "respite" care, and I myself have NO clue as to what specifically I will be doing other than working with the horses, ie., grooming, feeding, cleaning, leading and riding. I hope to be able take some pictures for my scrapbook too!
I know at present they do not have a website up and running but when they do I can pass it along.
The ranch is volunteer staffed and they depend on donations to keep it up and running.
On my personal website, www.geocities.com/laurelie36, I have a link that I will begin journal entries once my volunteering begins to tell stories of what I've done and who I met and the things I contributed to this great place.
It will start after my first day, which is Monday, May 8, 2006.
That's all I know so far, but as time goes on I can obtain more information and post it.
I just thought it would be super to volunteer my experience with horses since once upon a time I owned 8 of them myself, am an experience Western Rider, and have bred them as well. I grew up on my grandfathers farm and we had more horses than chickens!!!! So I thought this to be perfect to lend a hand and see what is possible for them and me.
