hello- my name is amy testo. im 30 yrs old, married with 3 kids. i myself am wanting to get the rny laproscopic surgery done by next yr or sooner. i just wanted to know if anyone else on here had that particular one done? if so, how did it go, what should i expect. my friend had the rny open surgery and shes lost alot of weight so far. i also have an aunt who had it done and as well lost alot. i cant wait to be on the losing side, i have so many medical problems that i know will calm down once i have this surgery. i was recently told i have fibromyalgia, which is making it real hard for me to walk, i can barely go to stores anymore or pick up my 3 month old son. well if anyone wants to keep in touch, just let me know. i could always use a friend to talk about this with. thanks- amy

Hello Amy, I had lap RNY done and did quite well, no complications and other than the fatique I felt verry good. I was back to work in a week because I worked half days and it is a desk job. Good luck on your quest for RNY surgery and let us know how you are doing. Take care, Janice

Welcome Amy! I also had the lap rny....check out my profile if you'd like..it's all in there. Very easy recovery and I have been successful, but lately I have had some weight gain, NOT because of the surgery. I am 2 1/2 years out and I just got a little lazy during these past holidays, so now am working it off. I wouldn't change a thing as far as getting the surgery though...intially lost about 125 lbs from my heaviest! I think you are doing the smartest thing, getting your weight under control while you are young....I wish I would have done it sooner!! Best of luck to you! Theresa
