Met Dr. Carlin-good news/bad news

Okay, so I went to my surgical consult today and met Dr. Carlin. First the bad news: I'm 10 lbs heavier and 1 inch shorter than I thought .. so instead of my BMI being 45.6 it's actually 49!!!! Ouch! Good News: Dr. Carlin is AWESOME!!! What an awesome man! He was so kind and friendly and really made me and my husband feel at ease. He told me that I was a perfect candidate and that, and I quote "I am excited to do your surgery" .. now THAT makes me happy. He gave me a weight loss goal of 5 lbs before surgery..that also made me a happy girl. My next appt. with him is on June 2nd. If everything is good they will schedule my surgery. YIPPEE.. I have to call my Dr. tomorrow to have my chest x-ray and bloodwork down as well as an upper GI. I am so excited...I just keep waiting for HAP to call and say..."uhhh..we changed our mind...we're not covering the surgery".. I keep thinking they are going to retract their approval... Anyway..just wanted to share the good (and bad) news. Blessings, Kim
