Hi, this is my first post, though I have read every one every day for months...Angie, from Dr. Featherstone's office just called and has faxed all my stuff to ASR insurance...my question(s), who has ASR and what is your experience, how long did you wait to hear anything, how long to approval and what is, was your history? Please let me know anything, I am so on edge with this process, I want this so bad and I am a bit of a control freak and not all that patient in these situations...Thanks to everyone!

Thank you so much!!! I have been reading everything for a long time, and now I figured it might be ok to get involved.

Welcome to the group Stacey I am from the traverse city area and work at Munson and I see that you are having surgery with Grand Traverse surgeons. I have dealt some with ASR at my old job and they can be pretty fast they do have 3o days to make a decision but they are usually on top of things and respond really quick Maybe it took like two weeks to get a determination for surgical procedures. I wish you well on your journey. Good Tricia

Hi Stacey, I have ASR and I have been at this for over a year now. It has to be aprroved from the nurses that they send it out too. Then when it comes back there is another board it goes too. Then it has to go the superviser and she has to determine if approved. Also with being such a costly surgery our company sends it to another insurance so be prepared to wait some. Just dont give up and you will win. They try to scare you into not going thru it. Good luck and welcome to the board. Hugs Debbie M
