I cant believe I made it. I had my surgery on Monday and came home yesterday. The pain was actually a little worse than I expected it to be. It was tolerable but not what I expected. My hospital stay was ok. My worse expierence was the IV situation. I dont have that many great veins. They eventually had to put it in my neck. I made it to my room about 3 and was up for my first walk about 6. I felt so sick to my stomach that i only walked the hall once and had to sit back down. A few hours later I was able to do alot of walking. This helped a great deal with the gas pain. I only have some discomfort on my left side. But all in all it was not a bad expierence. The worse thing out of this whole tihng so far is I have the worse case of the runs in my life. It did not start until shortly after I made it home. Im just going to wait until the surgeons office open up and give them call. Thanks everybody for all your support Dayja

Im glad to hear you're home and that is was not an awful experience for you. Hospital stays are never any fun, and you weren't in long - hooray. Congratulations on being home and feeling better. I hope each day brings you closer to wellness and that you experience feelings of joy while still having to deal with recovery. Best of luck to you in your journey - hopefully we will get a downriver suppport group together soon to share in our experiences. Kathryn

Thanks Kathryn, Im really surprised with myself. I got up this morning and got on the treadmill for a few minutes and did great. My biggest problem right now is that pesky diarrhea. Its good in a sense that Im getting all the gas out, but dern I thought I did not have anything left in me after I did that prep. (lol)

Hi Dayja, I'm glad that you made it through the surgery and are now home. I had a bad case of diarrhea the morning after I came home also. I think that you'll find it's pretty normal. It's just your body gettting rid of some of the stuff from the surgery, at least mine was. That's something that they didn't warn you about before hand. Then being on liquids doesn't help much either. Jeanne

Thanks everybody for all your support. I called the surgeon today and they told me the same thing that its normal. I got on the treadmill for a full ten minutes today. I walked around the house alot and even cleaned up the kitchen some until my husband told me to sit down. But I'm still feeling ok. I'm just catching up on the last two days of American Idol I missed Dayja
