Hi

I just talked to my Doctor office and the nurse said that my Doc is back to work the beginning of August.  If all goes right at my appt Aug 14 I will have RNY early Fall.  I can't wait.  I am so ready.

I have read the other posts and I am glad people are still checking in.  I have been reading but not really posting have had kidney stones to deal with.  I asked about the Borgess/Bronson Bariatric  and my Doc does not participate in that.  I would like to hear more about it though.  I am going to go to the Borgess Support groups though, every little bit helps.

I hope both of you are successful and will drop a line in the Michigan forum when you can I will too.  Best of luck

Are you at GHP? I am and awaiting on Dr. Kemmeter to return. Have you started your pre-op diet?

Hi, sorry I am in Kalamazoo, Bronson Hospital.  My Doc had a car accident and returns to work in August.  My Dr usually has his patients do a 2 week liquid diet.  But you cannot smoke (he tests for that), you have to stop caffiene, soda pop, try to break some of your bad habits while waiting for surgery date, good luck to you.

That's great news about your surgeon. Hopefully the pre-op process will get moving for you! I'm more of a reader myself and don't post too often. I'm on day 4 of my 14-day pre-op diet. I feel hungry but I'm not starving, so it's manageable. I get 4 shakes + 1 fruit + 1 500 calorie meal. Being able to eat some solid food helps. I starting to get excited (still nervous though) and can't wait for Aug 4 to get here!

Donna I am jealous of your pre-op diet. I get 5 protein shakes/8 oz skim or ff milk w/ 1/2 scoop powder each; and clear sugar free low sodium liquids plus water for 2 weeks.

Ugh! That doesn't sound fun! At least it's for a good cause!

I wonder why pre-op diets vary so much. Some people have 4-week diets, others just 1-3 days of liquids. I definitely won't complain about mine though.

Hi Donna, that is a good question. The post op diets vary a lot too.
