Diabetes Testing and Bariatric Surgery

I had my bariatric surgery in 2005, now it  may be necessary to have a diabetic test.  This would be a fast where I would have to drink a sugary drink and then go to get blood drawn for the next three hours.

How might this affect me?  I know that about a year out I had some syrup on some pancakes and got deathly sick.

Any suggestions or your experiences?

i would say that technology has come along that its the CARBS not the sugar that matters so why dont they send you to eat x amount of carbs, then sit and get tested so many hours after.  makes sense to me.  or do an a1c.  are you seeing an endocrinologist?
