We Don't Judge Here, Ask Questions, its okay, I promise...
Ronda my DD had the same thing happen. PCP didn't send records timely and than the center didn't send theirs to insurance.
You have to keep on them. My daughter got to where she was calling the center once a week, than once a day. They told her they sent them but, the insurance said they didn't get them so she would get back on the phone to the center. Keep after them, seems the saying about the squeaky wheel.
She learned when I went thru it and got left in limbo when paperwork wasn't sent.

I'll jump in here....My name is Colleen, I am 47, married with 2DD (9&24) and 2 GC (3&5), and a mini schnauzer. I had surgery 11/18/2008 at Barix in Ypsi with Dr. Schram. I have since had my gallbladder out (8/2010)and have struggled with iron-deficiency anemia that began last summer, but getting better in that respect. I have had some trouble with sticking to the program of late and since my GB surgery in 8/2010, I have gained back 30 pounds. I am now trying to consciously work on my bad habits and hopefully get this 30 back off. Unfortunately, I never met my goal weight of 170, and now that I have gained 30, I am 50 pounds from goal. Grrr.
Well, it's happened ! I don't have an "actual" date but the surgeons office has called and said it will be the first week in October. Good thing as by then I will have all of my canning done--gardens will have been put to rest ( although the way the weather has been our tomatoes might just be ready by then). Now I 'm excited and scared (perfectly natural I know)--got to get my ducks in a row and get serious about this whole thing--you know practicing the habits we need to develop. I will start tomorrow using the smaller plate and small spoon and fork, not drinking with meals, ect. I 'm on my way !!!!!

What are you having. I went thru Hurley too. I am so happy to hear Dr. Farhan talked you out of the band. Dr Wagner told me at my appointment he was never pro band When I saw him pre surgery he said no
such thing. I even asked if he felt there was any reason to choose one over he other.
I looked to him for advise and he said I would be good with either and there was no
reason for me to pick one over the other.
It really is to bad you can't have your surgery closer to home. I know your center is a
COE and that Hurley had been doing the surgeries the longest in this area.
Dr. Farhan is a good surgeon and has done many. The odds are you will be in a room
in the burn unit after surgery. My DD got the room mate from hell, a burn patient that had
been there awhile and wanted a private room. I too had a Godawful roomie. She was a
band patient. My sister had a good roomie so you never know. The staff at the hospital
can be hit or miss too.
Anything else PM me ok?

Hi ...been lurking the boards for a couple months. Having surgery set 12 at st johns Oakland . I have 8 year old twins and a soon to be 7 year old. Looking forward to the losers bench. I decided to do the RNY vs the sleeve.. Some times I sway the other way when I read all the complicated stories...but I know we are all different. Look forward to see more chats on the Michigan board.
I had the band and will be getting it out 9/4. I will be fighting the insurance
co to get the sleeve. I would have gotten the sleeve in the first if they had been doing it and insurance paid for it. My only choice was the RNY and Band at the time. I really thought I could make the band work and did the first year before I started having medical issues.
Good luck with your surgery and have a healthy and safe weight loss.
