Thanks for response. Sorry I didn't see it sooner. I did not see it under the original post but found it under recent post instead. Like I said before I do not post often so guess I dont really know what I am doing :-) I will get the hang of it once I post a little more often. I agree with you that Dr. Gluck is a very good surgeon! I drove 3 hours all the way across the state just to have him do my surgery! I was not sure what surgery I was going to have at that time, but I knew I wanted him to do the surgery after I met him :-) I enjoy this site and each of the forums, and I am sure I will get even more out of it now that I am posting.

Hi Everyone:
I have been hanging around here since Janurary. I had my surgery Feb29th, had the sleeve. So far doing well but part of me wishes would of had the RNY. But doctor thought would be better with sleeve, already had gallbladder out and everything goes threw me, so said RNY would not be best for me. So I went with the sleeve.
I have two childrens, Son is 30 with two beautiful grandaughters. My daughter will be 23 soon, but she is special needs, and will lives with me. For use been hard year, her father passed away last month of 4th stage cancer. We have not been married for about 10 years but we have been good friends. Very hard on her.
As for me I work full time, had my surgery threw Dr. Foote Out of GHP. But I had surgery in Grand Haven , MI. I live in Holland. Nice to meet everyone.

I'm getting impatient--Mini-rant coming--sorry, I don't know where else to vent. First of all, because of my PCP'error in not recording all the information relating to my 6 month insurance pre-approval doctor supervised diet (he just recorded my weight at my visits but didn't put down any information about my diet, exercise, ect) BCBS made me do the 6 months over. I finished that 6 months about 10 days ago, making sure at each visit it was put into my records what I was eating, how much I was walking, how I felt about the whole thing. 2 day before that I had the psych-eval ( Turns out I'm NOT nuts !!) and I signed a release with the PCP's office and they said they would send my records to the surgeons office. I'm on my way--I thought. I haven't heard anything from the surgeon's office so today I called my PCP--they haven't even sent my records yet !!! After the first 6 month delay thing you would have thought they would have made a special effort to help me out. I just want to get a date, have the surgery and get on with life. The longer I've had to wait the more "self-doubt" talk is working on me--the old "what if I'm too old (I'll be 67 next month)", "what if I have really severe complications" and on and on and on. I'm really upset with my PCP's office and I can't even complain to him because he went on vacation the day after my last appointment and won't be back for another 2 weeks. I know this is probably something you can't give advice for but it helps being able to talk about it. Thanks for letting me take up space on this forum !!

I am sorry you are going through so much! Insurance company's dont make anything easy that is for sure then you add in slow moving Dr. offices and that just makes it worse. Did your PCP office say they would fax over the information for you? Your Dr. does not have to be there for that. As far as the "self-doubt" goes, we all went through that I would bet! When you do get a date you will be so thrilled, but then the doubt will come back even worse! It is very scarey the unknown of any type of surgery. No matter what type of WLS you have they all come with risk and possible complication of some sort. Just inform yourself as much as you can. Use this forum and any support groups you may have available to you! Best of luck to you on your journey. Keep us posted on how things go.
Thanks Ronda, Just knowing someone took the time to read what I wrote and respond to it has made me feel better. PCP's office called about 4pm and want me to come in tomorrow to sign another release-seems know one can find the one I filled out 10 days ago !! They said as soon as I did that they would fax everything over to my surgeon.

Glad that they are finally getting this taken care of for you! I do read everything on this board several times a day now that I am unemployed. I may not be able to help with many issues but I know that it is nice to know that there are others out there listening and being here to support each other in our journey! Keep us posted on when you get a surgery date.
