Primary Care Doctor that supports WLS in Downriver Area

Does anyone know of any primary care physicians that support WLS in the Downriver Area?  I had WLS done in 2007 and would like to try to get some reconstructive surgery, and my present primary care physician just says he has never seen insurance cover it.  Granted he may be right, but he doesn't make that decision.  I wanted him to document my back pain and all he tells me is that he doesn't prescribe narcotics.... I don't want narcotics, I just wanted the pain documented.  He has never been supported of me having the WLS.  So it is time that I make a change!!  Any suggestions would be helpful!!

My PCP, Ammar Kanaan, supported me in getting my WLS.  He has a sister who had the surgery.  I have had several reconstructive surgeries but did not ask for his assistance to get things covered.  I self paid.  I did not have anything to document.  He's in Southgate.  734-282-2020 I think is the clinic's number.  Hope this helps.

Yes mine Dr aaron Blanzy and you would go see  my wls. Both docs are great.
My surgeon gave me the tool. Now it is up to me to use it right.

Hi Hollie,
I have seen her before and she was nice.  Did she support you having the surgery and has she been supportive after?  I may switch to her.  Right now I see Dr. Mehta and he has not been very supportive of me trying to get plastics done.

Just for the record, insurance does cover some plastics, in certain cases (as I'm sure you know). My insurance (BCBS) covered my extended tummy tuck because I had lost over 100 pounds. They cover the panniculectomy entirely given different cir****tances (weight loss of over 100 pounds, or a pannus that hangs over the pubis, for example). I didn't even need them to pre-approve the surgery. I paid something like 1800 out of pocket to have the extended tummy tuck instead of just a panniculectomy, but that was my choice.
