BCN and plastic surgery?
Hey all,
Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with Blue Care Network and having any sort of plastic surgery? If so, I'm interested in hearing about your experiences. I had gastric bypass on Novermber 16, 2009 and went from 267 to about 155 but have a lot of extra skin on my stomach I would like to get ride of. Ideally I'd like to have a tummy tuck and a breast life but no implants or anything...I spoke with a few different reps for the insurance company who said if the surgeon finds it medically nessasary, they will cover it to an extent but I would have to basically pay for half. I'm a little concerned about this being covered. I don't generally have too much skin irritation or anything. It's a huge annoyance though.
Any feedback would be helpful! =)

I have BCN as well and not only did they cover the skin removal from my stomach they also covered the skin removal from my arms and they actually did it without any hassle. Now to be honest, the insurance coordinator at my plastic surgeons office was very surprised they covered my arms she stated that of 8 years of her doing that job she had never seen them cover arms so I really lucked out on that not sure what made my situation so different but I'm thankful for it.
