I had my panni and my butt lift on 10-10-15. At cottage hospital (Henry Ford outlet) by dr tepper.
Still drugged up today. Walking stiff and hunched over. My folks are taking care of me . Thank goodness. No way I could do it on my own. Glad I had it done. My butt is a solid bruise. Stomach is swollen. Still have 3 drainaige tubes. Some will come out later this week. Just wanted to update you guys. It was not a walk in the park but the view will be awsome. Yeah drugs.

Hope you have a speedy recovery.  I have decided to waive getting plastics after my ordeal with my appendix and then 3 surgeries due to complications on my bladder lift within 10 days.... I can't go through anymore surgeries let alone elective surgeries like plastics... i had a really hard recovery with my appendix since it was done open and not lap, so I can not even begin to imagine the pain you are going through and I personally don't want to do that... I will deal with my spanx and go from there... Hubby loves me just the way I am and I can deal with it now....

Congrats on taking that leap and continuing your journey..... Very proud of you, and again here is to a speedy recovery.  Keep us posted and when you heal I would love to see how it all turned out for you....

HUGS and Healing vibes,

Hi Cheryl, a blast from the past!  Finally found my way back to OH but can't figure how to post a new topic anymore!  I had my panni three weeks ago tomorrow.  Definitely not a walk in the park.  I wish I could have had my butt done, but insurance wouldn't cover that.  I'm still swollen and wearing my binder during the day, but not at night.  My before and after pictures are amazing.  Do you ow have an elongated belly button?  I guess round is out and elongated is in...my surgeon told me so.  :c)  I had mine done up here in Traverse City by Dr. Smith and am pleased with the result.  It's amazing what they can do these days.  You'll find that every day you'll be feeling better, noticeably.  I'd love to have my inner thighs done, but I'll just live with what I have.  Getting out of bed was the hardest thing, but I learned to do it without too much pain.  I'll be thinking of you.

I am feeling better. I am at home now. (thank goodness) I stayed a week at my folks house. Needed the help. I could never have done this on my own.  I still have 1 drainage tube. Hope to get that pulled friday. Still wereing the spanx. Stomach still swollen but my butt is coming along nicely. That sounds funny to say. I have a long belly button not round, just greatful to have one. It would look funny not to. I know we dont need them but still looks odd.

Glad you are doing well Jani. Funny we had it done so close together.

Your insurance didn't cover the butt lift did it?  I'd love to have my gobbler done too, but I'm going to be happy with what I've gotAt least I think I'm going to be satisfied.  I'm putting mederma on the incisions to help reduce the redness and scaring in general.
I was thinking the same thing about having it done so close.  Great minds think alike!
Hope each day is better for you.  Did your Dr. say it would take a whole year to be totally recovered?  Mine did.  :c(   but it's worth it for sure.

It is what it is.

No the insurance did not cover the butt. I decided to have it done because I had such great tailbone pain. The insurance did cover the panni. I never spend money on myself. Always the kids. After thinking long and hard I decided to take advantage of already being in the or room and such. (always thinking on how to get the best bang for my buck) . I tell you and all who follow, they said this was just an overnight stay and I would be fine. So not true. I have a high high pain tollerance. The first 36 hours were horrible. Not the pain but the weakness and inability to do anything besides go to the bathroom. I was so weak from no protein. No eating after midnight day of surgery. The night of surgery they gave me salad with dry chicken on it. Breakfast they gave me fresh fruit and oatmeal. So I was so weak from lack of protein it was terrible. When I came home I walked from the truck to the porch and sat down. Then from porch to just inside of house. Then halfway down hallway to bathroom. Then from bathroom to  recliner chair with lift in it. I had people on both sides of me holding me up and was the whitest shade of white. I am no day lilly but this kicked my butt. so all of you planning a panni and a butt lift make sure you have plenty of help for at least 5 full days.

The doctor told me to use Aquaphor on my incision and drain hole sites. Yes she said it would take a long time to see end results and for healing. But I can feel my hour glass waist and my hard tush. My stomach is still swollen but much better than before surgery.
I am so happy I done this.

Hi Cheryl,

It's been a long time since I've been on the boards and just happened to check out the MI board tonight.  Congrats on the plastics and I hope your recovery goes really well!  Sounds like it was a good thing you had help!

Jan - hope your recovery is going well too!!  Funny how you two had it done so close together!

Take care, both of you!
