I would love to have a tummy tuck but its so expensive.  Would like to know where some of you have had your tummy tucks done at and if you wouldnt mind sharing the cost with me and if your happy after doing it.

Thanks
Sandy

I had my tummy tuck a year ago. It was covered by Blue Cross Blue Shield.  I don't know what insurance you have, or how much you have lost, but many insurance companies will pay when over 100 pounds have been lost.
I had Dr. Sherbert do my surgery. He was wonderful.  I would highly recommend him.
Any further questions, don't hesitate to ask.
Good luck.

Hi Sheryl,

I have Oakwoods insurance and have already called to ask if they would cover it and they told me no.  It took them forever to agree to pay for bariatric surgeries.....probably going to take forever for them to agree to the tucks...lol
Ive lost 110 lbs so a tuck would be a great thing right now.  Ive consulted a few plastic docs and it would cost me around $8000.   To much!

I need a tummy tuck to. I have blue care network they are like blue cross blue shield. I wonder if they will cover mine. I get infections all the time under there so I hope they cover it. I heard if it is for a medical problem that they cover the tummy tuck. They covered my sleeve so fast no problems with my wls being covered.
My surgeon gave me the tool. Now it is up to me to use it right.

Hi Val...I have Blue Care Network too..for State of Mi employees.  A friend who has the same insurance, and who had the sleeve..got her tummy tuck covered by BCN.  She just had to go in to see the doc every month for 6 mths..to document issues w/rash under the tummy..and it was covered.

wow that is great. I have went to my now family doc only 2 times he took pictures the last time of my problems. I hope I do not have to keep going to him for 6 months. I drive a school bus for dearborn schools so I guess our insurance is the same.
My surgeon gave me the tool. Now it is up to me to use it right.

I had an LBL & brachio done by Dr. Livingston who works out of the Grand Health Partners office here in Grand Rapids. That cost me just over $12k however I believe the quote I got for just a TT and brachio was around $6k. I believe they didn't include the panni part which was like $1,200 because they were going to be billing my insurance for that amount. I've found his prices are very reasonable and he does excellent work. Worth a call to find out if they will do a quote over the phone or maybe a day trip to the west side of the state for a consult.

 hi sandy,

i had mine done at barix, dr. dinick.  he charged me $800 for the vertical.  Not sure what the panny was cuz bcbs state of mi plan covered that completely.  i was happy with his work and follow up care.  i had my drains in for exactly six wks, which was more than all of my friends.  so i had a feeling i was a special case and was pleased he didn't rush my recovery...

Hi Boxermom,

Did you have your bariatric surgery there as well?  Where is the barix clinic that you went to....I would like to give them a call.
Thank you!
