I'm just curious, I haven't seen many people going here for their surgeries? I meet with Dr. Bacal on the 9th of May and wanted to get some other patients 'take' on him.  I have read his reviews but they are all from last year and nothing after November, I believe.  I really like Terri the Nurse Coordinator, and Amy the Office Manager seemed really nice also.  What do you guys think?

Thanks.

Wendy,

I have a friend that used Dr. Bacal and had a VSG at Oakwood.  She really liked him and trusted him with the surgery.  Hope this helps a little!

Thanks Christy, you're the first to respond...I'm starting to wonder if he really doesn't do many surgeries, or his patients just don't like going on-line! LOL

Either way, I'm still going to meet with him before I form an opionion (obviously).  He seemed really nice at the Bariatric Surgery Seminar, but he seemed to prefer the RNY surgery.  I really don't think I want to go that drastic, we'll see.

Thanks again for replying to me,
Wendy

You're welcome!  I have found this website to be very helpful.  I am still in the early stages also.  I was torn between the RNY and VSG, but have since decided on the VSG.  The RNY was way to drastic for me also!

Dr. Bacal did my GB surgery in August 2007.  He is the best.  He was right in the X-ray room when they did my upper GI to make sure there were no leakages.  He was showing me what my stomach looked like on the x-ray, etc.  I have never had a surgeon do that.  Not to mention, he seems to really care about helping his patients.  Terri is great too!  To this day, if I have questions, all I have to do is e-mail Terri and I get an answer.
