What a Day!

So little to no sleep last night.  Spent much of the time reading up on my information for sugery and post op.  Finally around 2:30 I got up and putz'd around the house doing nervous work.  At 3:30 took the pre-surgical home scrub down and then I was off to the hospital.
I felt sorry for my brother, he brought me and this is god awful boring for him.  After the short drive and cold walk in, signing in was a gram of protein (in lew of a piece of cake).  Weigh in and then change to hospital gear.  Nice touch,  towel blanket and gown were pre-warmed for me.  They supplied me with slipper to take home too (cost at the store $1.50. charge to insurance more like $150).  Once they started things really start to role.  Pincushion time, type and cross match the blood again, hook up the IV's and talk to the nurses, a tech to ceritfy my CPAP, a anesthesioligist in training (she was so sweet and the most blue eyes I have ever seen), the actual anesthesioligist, lead O.R. nurse, and finally my surgeon.
A couple of shots of some relaxation meds, and then off to the E.R.
CAN YOU SAY BRR!  I used to tease my doctor of storing his stethescope in the fridge, but OMG this OR room was the fridge.  Slid over to the opeating table, got to say hi to everyone again, go on oxygen and.....

Well here I am in recovery and....

Well here I am in recovery and, oh yeah, been here, just waking up again.  Thirty minutes of in and out of sleep and the nice ladies got me walking, tested with upper GI and got me home.
