Congrats and good luck! Wishing you a safe and speedy recovery! I cant wait till I can get my sleeve! Which surgeon did you choose? BTW make sure too let us know how your surgery went, the Michigan forum seems kinda dead, but the VSG forum is really active.

I will check the VSG site, but at the same time I will tell people to get their soon to be tiny heinies in this chat,
Thanks for the wishes, surgery went well and much easier than I expected.  I only had to report a 4 to 5 (on a 1 to 10 scale) once, and the staff at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing were very caring and attentive.  In at 5:30 a.m. Home at 2 in the afternoon.
My choice of surgeon was some of the years of legwork I personally had to put in.  I met with doctors in Ypsilanti, Grand Rapids and Flint, attended some meetings for the original Sparrow Hospital program and found much good, but not the fit I was looking for.  I kept talking to my regualr doctor and he kept looking for me as well.  He gave his recommendation for MISA, minimally Invasive surgical associates.  Dr. Melissa Richardson was my surgeon, and she shares this practice with Dr. Mindy Lane.  It is a complete practice and they are the best in working out the snags along the way

Getting the anesthesia out of the system and I surprisingly don't have as much pain as I expected.  The throat is sore from the breathing tube they used but feels great with a SF Popsicle.  Walking around the house and doing good so far.
Happy New Birthday, Mark it 2/15/2011!
