How are things? Seems to be pretty quiet over here lately. I haven't had much time to be on OH at all lately - if it's not one thing, it's another, right?

2.  What song’s lyrics or title best says the positive things of your mood at this time? 

I just heard a song on the radio this morning and I wanted to Google it to read the lyrics. But now I can't remember the song. It talked about "What do you want to be" -- and the message I got was that I needed to figure out what I want to do with my life in the long run and work each day toward that goal. Dang! I wish I remembered the song now!


3.  What’s your favorite (be honest!) way to pass the time when the power’s out? 

Reading by candlelight. Or just going to bed early? If I had a snuggling-partner, this would be an easy answer!


4.  Of the field trips you remember taking in elementary school, which was your favorite? 

Greenfield Village in the 5th grade. My dad was a chaperone and I wanted to be in his group. But since he was a man, he got paired with a group of boys. So it was me and a bunch of boys touring Greenfield Village and the Henry Ford Museum. Fun!


5.  What’s the weirdest use of condiments you’ve seen by other people?

My brother likes grilled peanut butter and cheese sandwiches. Is peanut butter a condiment?

I remember when we did our Greenfield Village field trip, we spent part of the day in the one room school house learning like the kids did way back when.... We also dressed up like in the early 1900's.... My mom made me a costume like Laura Ingalls from Little House on the Prairie and even made me a tin can lunch bucket....  It was sooooo much fun.....

Probably me.... I put tarter sauce on my french fries!!!

 Mayo for hair conditioner. Yuck!

Powers Out - If at night, read or sleep.  Day, home repair or go somewhere.
Field Trip - Planetarium - always amazed by the night sky.
Weird Condiment Use - 2 I can think of, on food someone mixed french dressing and blue cheese on a hot dog,  Medicinal - mustard on burns and vinegar to remove warts???

3.  What’s your favorite (be honest!) way to pass the time when the power’s out? filling the generator and kerosene heater.
4.  Of the field trips you remember taking in elementary school, which was your favorite? I went to Bell Isle to see the German U boat that was captured in the great lakes when it was on it way to the Chicago navy Pier. I sat on a bench out side to eat my polish sausage sandwich my momma packed me and the Captains dog came out and snatched it from my hands. Being a little first grader I was crying So the Captain had his first mate go get me a lunch from one of the local food courts. 40 yrs later as I was visiting the inside exhibit at the Chicago Science and Industry museum I was looking at pictures of the journey of the boat up the great lakes to the museum and there was a picture of the Captain and his dirty little dog tied on a lease next to that very same bench I was eating lunch on. I shouted out to my family who have heard the story many time. "That's the dog that stole my lunch!" Of couse all the people who did not know me or my story thought I was nuts! LOL

  Mustard and Mayo. Icky icky icky

 Thanks for the condolences Mary.  It was nice you signed the guest book.  its amazing the things they do online these days.  It will be a few days before the true feelings set in and its all absorbed.  we loved Papa.  He was the only grandparent my daughter has known. :(
