Good Morning Michiganders and all who lurk.

Have not seen or heard from many of or Old Time Cyber coffee OH-ers and was just wondering how the heck you all are doing? What is Keeping you from the MI OH board? How is you journey going?

QOTD: All of the above.
I have been plugging along. Everything is cope-a-static here. Just decided to get disciplined and recommit to checking in on OH MI daily. I guess i just disappeared for a while cause I got lazy and started to fall into old habits. But NOW I am back. My journey is stable but I could pump it up and do a whole lot better, so I have been working on it.

Hope you all will join in today and update us, or let us know if we can be there for you.

Have a Great Week end!

Good Morning Mary and all of Michigan!

My dear husband got me a Cuisinart coffee maker as a surprise and I just made a cup of coffee with SF vanilla caramel creamer and splenda!  Yum!  I have a box of samples of K-cups so I can try different ones!

QOTD:  I am doing okay on my weight loss journey. I am almost 2 years out so I am in the maintainence phase but struggle daily with making the right choices.  I did pretty good over the holidays, but for the first time ate things like cookies and candy that were not sugar free or made with splenda.  As I've posted before, I'm also struggling with my addiction to carbs (pretzels and crackers).  I eat way too many of these!  I have maintained my loss of 160 lbs, EXCEPT for I fluctuate up between 5-7 lbs.  That disappoints me and I'd like to get it under control.

My daughter is doing fantastic - had her surgery in May '10 and she is down 105 lbs and 20 away from reaching her personal goal!  I am proud of her.

And of course my boys just had surgery four weeks ago Monday - they are both down 50+ pounds!  I am proud of them also and happy my kids have the opportunity for a healthier life!

Have a great day all!

You got a k-cup coffee maker?! OMG! I love my Keurig so much. :-)

My current favorite is the Dunkin Donuts Cinnamon Roll coffee. I make a fake latte right in my kitchen. I heat up 6 ounces of milk, add about 1 tablespoon sf vanilla syrup, then froth the milk with my areolatte thingie -- then add the brewed coffee to the milk. SOOOOO good!

Hi Pam - yes he surprised me and had a 'gift' wrapped up sitting on my desk in my office when I got home Wednesday night!  He knows how much I like my coffee.  I LOVE it!  I got a sample pack of 12 k-cups, but I'll have to look for the Dunkin Donuts Cinnamon Roll.  Do you order your k-cups on-line?

Thanks for the recipe....going to have to try that one!!

BTW...love your new picture!

I often order my k-cups on Amazon. But if you pay attention to the ads,  you can sometimes find good sales locally. Bed Bath and Beyond sometimes has 18-packs for $9.99. On Amazon it's usually around $14 for a 24-pack, so the same price per k-cup.  But sometimes you can find super great sales on Amazon.

Oooo.. check it out! My Cinnamon Roll flavor is on sale for $12/box. I'm ordering!

I also have the little filter thingie where you can put your own coffee grounds in the cup rather than buying the k-cups. It's way cheaper, of course. But that little basket is a big pain in the butt.

I also have one of those k-cup carousels that sit on the counter next to my coffee maker.

If you don't have any in your sampler pack -- definitely try the Chai Latte and the Hot Chocolate. If you're coming to the meeting on Tuesday I can give you samples of these two. I also have some Emerial Bold Vanilla that I don't like very much and can share some of that with you (it's too bold for my tastes).

Oh, I have one of those little filter thingie's too :-)  I did make it with my own Folger's coffe grounds and your right, it is a pain in the butt but I can see where it would be way cheaper!  I'll have to get one of those carousels.

Thanks for the tips on which ones to try!!  I won't be able to make the meeting Tuesday night because I have a hair cut/color appointment.  I am hoping to make the Feb meeting.

Hey girls,

I have a Kurieg at work and the Chai Latte and Dunkin Doughnut ones are the bomb, Pam's right about that!  My friend likes to try all the fun new ones and she gives me the ones she doesn't like to take to work, so I have my own stash at my desk....and I don't share with anyone, hehehehe!  Funny thing is the girl hates flavored coffee, so why she's always trying the new ones is beyond me, but I like it :).

Hope you guys had a great holiday, and back to real life, hopefully I'll get over this cold I've had for weeks,

E

I'm active with another group and usually only post to that one.  It has been so long since I posted here I should probably reintroduce myself.  My name is Colleen and I live in Lincoln Park.

I started this journey at 281.4 pounds and am currently at 156.2.  I still have about 10 more to go to get to my goal.  It's been difficult because I have a medical condition that doesn't work well with exercize, but I do what and when I can.

I am having private sessions with RN who is also a group leader here on OH and a registered life coach. I paid fo 2 months up front so we will see what happens.

I have recommitted myself to get back on track with my supplements and food.  I do not experience dumping and had a really hard time staying away from the Christmas cookies.

I don't know how to make protein coffee; the liquid would be too hot and just make it clumpy.  YUCK!  Maybe there is a trick to it that I'm not aware of.  Anyway, what is in my coffee cup this morning is coffee and hazelnut creamer.

It's cold out there this morning folks; bundle up!

Protein Coffee

first put your scoop of protein in the cup. then add about an once of cold Skim Milk Or Water, Stir it to make a thick but liquit slurry then add in your Coffee. SF flavors

This will stop the clumping.

I'm usually around OH at some point during the day. But mornings seems to be a bit more hectic for me at the office lately so I'm not around first thing.

School is about to start up again for the semester next week. Not looking forward to having a Saturday class that's 90 minutes away from home and my Thursday night class is going to cut into my Grey's Anatomy time.  Thankfully the head of the graphics department is working with me on a special project for this term's publication-design class and I may be able to tackle a personal project that has been on the back burner for a while rather than the planned class assignments.

I've got a big week next week. I've been asked to speak at the Hurley Support Group meeting on Monday night and then we have the Bay City support meeting on Tuesday night. Meeting friends on Wednesday and then Thursday is the start of school again. Friday is free, then most of Saturday will be taken up with school (class is 9a-1p in Auburn Hills, so won't get home until 2:30 or so - yuck!).

My WLS journey?

At 3 years out I've noticed a decided change in my journey -- life is so much less about WLS now than it used to be. The WLS stuff has just become a part of my daily routines and is part of who I am, so now I no longer have to focus all of my energy and attention on being a WLS patient and can just live my life like a normal person. There's never a day I forget about my WLS, but most days it's definitely not the focus.
