PRE-OP DIET QUESTION

Hello everyone,
I am having the Gastric Sleeve done on 1/20/2011 by Dr Carlin at Henry Ford. I will be doing a 2 week liquid diet. I have been trying different protein shakes and such and cannot find any that I like. Does anyone have any suggestions? Someone suggested Beaumont for shakes, does anyone know if they have a store or where to go to buy them.

Do you know which sweeteners you like and which ones you don't?  I love Splenda, but I don't like Acesulfamate Potassium (AceK) at all, so I'm really picky about my protein powder.  I like GNC carmel chocolate (it is Splenda only, the other flavors have AceK in them too) and the Vitamin Shoppe brand in the blue containers.  I also like the protein from bariatriceating.com - carmel latte is my favorite.

You should check out vitalady.com...You can purchase samples instead of buying tubs of stuff that you may not like (esp after surgery).  Here is the link to her order form for samples:

Okay, I will try those. I tried banana cream muscle milk this morning this morning. It did not taste bad but it took me forever to get done with it. I ha a chocolate one that I will do tomorrow. So far muscle milk is leading the pack. I also have a mix I got from GNC.

I suggest Body Fortress,  They sell it at Walmart in several flavors for 14.oo,  ----w

 I'm currently doing the liquid diet also, my surgery is this Tuesday. I also like the Muscle Milk chocolate flavor.  I also like Slim Fast low carbohydrate protein shake. You can find those at Meijer. Good luck.
