Hi everyone, my surgery went great and I just got home at two. Had to take a pain pill when I got home and drink 15cc of water so far 60cc of water down and it is staying down. Tomorrow I start my protein drink. I am going to get my walk in now and then lay down for a while. I had an 2 hour ride home from the hospital and I am tired.

Take Care,
Mary

 Hi Mary
I am glad everything went well and that you are home.  Keep drinking and walking and you'll soon be eating and jogging around!  Where did you go for your surgery?   Did you have RNY? I bet the LONG ride home felt twice as long to you.

How did it go with your grandkids?  I hope it wasn't traumatic for them with you being gone.

If I can help you any way, just give me a shout!  I'm also on facebook.  My site is:  www.facebook.com/karen.proudfoot.

Take care!

Hi Karen,
I started my protein drink this morning and drinking my water. I also been walking for 10 minutes between drinks. I had a RNY. My surgery in Muskegon at Mercy Hospital and Dr. Brian Gluck did my surgery. The hospital staff and Dr. Gluck were very nice to me and took real good care of me.

Today the home nurse came and took out my drain tube, and took my blood pressure. Blood Pressure was great, so I did not have to take my blood pressure medication today.

My grandkids did better than I thought they would. I talked to them the night I had my surgery and they were very happy that I was alright. They are spending the weekend with their other grandparents, so, this gives me time to plan out what I need to do to make sure I get my protein and water intake in.

Hey Mary, glad everything went well and you are home.

I can relate to the 2 hr trip home.....had my surgery in Grand Rapids and I live in Sturgis 100 miles away.  Took a pillow to put against my tummy for the bumps.

Keep up your walking and sipping.

Best wishes,
Pat R.

Hi Pat,

I have a binder on and I never realized before how bumpy the highway was between Muskegon and Holland. Then when I got on the road to where I live, it was even bumpier. Then when I got home, getting out of the car was a real challenge. Then I had to go up five steps to get in to my house. I had to take something for pain when I got home. But I am sure glad to be home.

Take Care,
Mary

Hi Mary,
I'm glad to hear you are home from your surgery.  Glad it went good for you.  Now, just take care of yourself and drink your liquids!!  Also, keep on walking around your house, helps with the gas issue!!  LOL

I can relate to the long ride too, it took us about 5 1/2 hours to drive home!!    Wasn't a fun ride.  I had a pillow on my tummy all the way home.

Take it easy and don't overdue it!!
God Bless,
