First winter after surgery

Not sure if it's emotional, physical or mental but I seem to want to go into hibernation.

What does that mean?  I seem hungry all the time, especially in the evening!  I want to go to bed as soon as it's dark out.

How can I get out of this vicious "cycle" so I don't regain?

 Hi Theresa,

I don't know if I have the answer to your question, however many people get the feeling of hibernating once fall hits. Summer is always a season of being outside, especially in Michigan when we have to take advantage of the warm weather while it is here. Fall bring all types of responses to many people. So many of the fall holidays are traditionally celebrated with an emphasis on food. Now is the time to work on training the brain to make holidays about family and socializing instead of just the food part.
Keep up the healthy habits you have developed- Join a gym, and develop other hobbies that keep you moving and active. When the weight loss starts to slow it si important to start paying attention to your body and pouch when it signals" I am full", The further out we get sometimes prompts us to pay closer attention to cues and avoid areas that may cause us to revert to old ways.
Hope these ideas help.

Take care and keep up your great progress-

Amy - Do you attend our Support Group in Sturgis?  I don't remember meeting you there.  First Monday of every month in the hospital basement.

I forgot all about support group this month!  Duh me!  Guess it's because we are facilitating FPU at our church and I got side tracked on days.  Will definitely put on my calendar for December!
