FIVE FOR FRIDAY!

1)  Do you dress up for Halloween?  I will this year because I am working at the bar on Saturday night and they are having a Halloween party.

2)  What was your favorite all time Halloween costume?  I made a dress out of two plastic birthday table cloths and wore a birthday crown and went in "my birthday suit"

3)  What was the last movie you saw in the theater?  I saw Eat, Pray, Love . . (not sure of the order) with my daughter for my birthday.

4)  Do you make protein smoothies? and if so what's your favorite?  I make a blueberry & strawberry smoothie with vanilla protein and lots of ice . . it's very good.

5)  What's up for the weekend? Tonight I will be just working around the house, working at the bar on Saturday night.  I am heading to Sebewaing to have lunch with my son and Hanna on Sunday.  I don't go back to wor****il 3:30 on Wednesday so I have lots of time for reading and naps!

Good morning all!

I'm just about to have my morning yogurt and fiber one twigs. It was so cold this morning that I just wanted to snuggle under the covers and go back to sleep for a couple hours. It was so tempting! But here I am at work anyway. One Halloween Parade has already been through the office... I'm expecting more throughout the day from other departments. Fun!

1)  Do you dress up for Halloween?

Nope, not usually. Below is a pic of my costume today. It was my Goodwill purchase from this past weekend. Can't beat $1, right?

2)  What was your favorite all time Halloween costume?

When I was a kid I remember the year I dressed up as a scarecrow. Not sure where my mom found a bale of hay, but a good portion of it was stuffed inside my scarecrow clothes. Then she made hay accessories for me -- bracelets made from duct tape and hay that wrapped around my wrists so the hay would stick out of my sleeve. Same for my ankles and around my head underneath my big farmer's hat. It was the itchiest costume ever!

3)  What was the last movie you saw in the theater?

I saw "You Again" a couple weekends ago when I was in Mackinaw. Very funny.

4)  Do you make protein smoothies? and if so what's your favorite?

My old standby is the strawberry banana:

1 cup crystal light (whatever flavor is in the fridge)
1 small banana
5 frozen strawberries
1 container carbmaster yogurt
1 scoop protein
ice -- if necessary

I also made a super delicious pumpkin spice smoothie the other day

1 cup milk
3 tablespoons pumpkin puree
1 tablespoon splenda granular
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin spice
1 scoop protein
ice

Of course.... I'm also in love with the Nectar Fuzzy Navel Frozen Yogurt recipe lately too.

5)  What's up for the weekend?

Cable company coming tomorrow morning to install internet. I've decided to ditch my current ISP and get a bit more speed from Charter. I don't do well with change, so this has been a long time coming. Otherwise I plan to write my butt off - as usual. And get some major amounts of homework done.  And when the kids come knocking on the door for Halloween... I'll be safely locked inside my house with all the lights off. No candy this year!

1)  Do you dress up for Halloween?  I would if I had the time to make a costume.  I was SO disappointed I didn't finish my costume for this year!

2)  What was your favorite all time Halloween costume?  My husband and I were Intergalactic Space Squirrels (back when I had time to make costumes)......fun!

3)  What was the last movie you saw in the theater?  Despicable Me...LOVED it!

4)  Do you make protein smoothies? and if so what's your favorite?  I probably should get back to making them, but I haven't in a long time.  I usually just mix up a protein shake instead.

5)  What's up for the weekend?  Homework.....it's ALWAYS homework.  I have four paintings due next week so I need to get those done this weekend.  I was SO excited that I'll be graduating in the spring, but now I'm going to be going back to earn my MFA so it looks like two more years of this are in store for me.

We did our normal thing this AM...I had coffee.  Dub had a blueberry pancake and some fruit and milk.   After breakfast, we went to the science center in Ann Arbor for Tiny Tots.  It was fun.  We got toE see all kinds of critters and the owls, up close.   Then we had lunch at Panera.

FIVE FOR FRIDAY!

1)  Do you dress up for Halloween?
I did when I was teaching, but I always did something pertaining to what we were studying at the time.  Like one year, I was a Cumulus cloud and another year, I was a magnet.

2)  What was your favorite all time Halloween costume?
One year, my sister used a white sheet and made a giant pair of "tighty whitey" style underwear.   The 'waistband', which was a long piece of foam, was bout 4 or 5 feet wide.  That went across your shoulders and then the sheet was cut and sewn to look like underwear.  I was in high school, the following year and I wore them to school.

3)  What was the last movie you saw in the theater?
I don't remember.

4)  Do you make protein smoothies? and if so what's your favorite?
I did, early on, but couldn't tolerate whey protein so I stopped using them until I found a good soy protein powder I liked.   But before I found the soy, I would use chocolate whey powder to make a chocolate/peanut butter protein shake.  Yum.  They were very good.  My husband would drink them, too.

5)  What's up for the weekend?
Sometime tomorrow, we're going to my brother-in-law's for my nephews 5th birthday.  They haven't let us know what time.  Grrrr.  We'll go trick or treating for a bit on Sunday and then we're going to the library for their Halloween party.  Other than that, we are just kinda hanging out at home.

I forgot to mention to you Kristy that if you decide you want to get a kitten, I have a very sweet cat that needs a home.  She was my niece's and I took it in for her (for 6 weeks....it's been 3 years now) as a favor.  I am not a cat person and since Dub came along, I have banished the cat to my laundry room.  She's very content to just lay around in there, but she's getting fat!  LOL!  She needs someone to love her because she's a good kitty.  My hubby gives her attention everyday and I pet her when I go in and do laundry, but that's about it.  I feel bad for her, but not bad enough to let her out of the laundry room.  She's spayed and de-clawed.  I would deliver her FREE with food and litter box (even the automatic litter box) and have her all updated on everything at the vet.  She just needs a home!  So if you get that urge, and are interested, let me know!
