OMG Sandi I was just going to start a thread on couponing....seriously!!!  And, no kidding I almost was going to go to that class tomorrow night.  A friend of mine has been to the class and is addicted to 'couponing'.  She got me started about three weeks ago and told me about the class in Davison because I missed the one up here in Midland.

Anyways, I went with her tonight to Kroger where they double the coupons up to $1.00.  I just posted on my FB Status
 '
Totally addicted to 'couponing' thanks to my friend Judy who got me hookedl Total bill was $263.17 before coupons. Walked out of the store paying $55.97!! 79% savings. Gotta love it when they double coupons up to a $1.00. I got so much 'free' stuff tonight.'

and then I signed on to OH and saw this post!   I wish I was going to the class now so I could meet you!!  I am totally addicted to couponing!  I got 12 tubes of toothpaste FREE.  Yogurt FREE, Laundry soap for $1.00 a jug!  Deoderant for .15 cents!!

It's all about finding items that are ON SALE and that you have a coupon for.  Kroger in Saginaw and Bay City double the coupons up to $1.00 so for example tonight they had Sure deoderant on sale for $2.15.  I had a $1.00 off coupon and they doubled it so that is $2 off so the final cost was .15 cents!!  and you can use up to three coupons that are the same.

Let me know what you think of the class

Nan, I like the idea of couponing and actually used to be pretty good at it when we first got married and were living in NC.  I did it out of necessity.  I've tried to get back into it because I THINK I have the time, now.  I've had "discussions" with some of my friends that coupon and while I'm not opposed to using them, I generally don't because I find that I end up buying things I don't need or really use that often, just because I have a coupon.  I'll use them for diapers and things I use all the time, or to try something out that I've never used, but beyond that, I don't seem to use them.

I like certain brands (not necessarily NAME brand, but I like what I like) and I tend to stick to them.  I was told in order to make couponing work, I couldn't be brand loyal, which I understand, but can't (or don't want to) get past.  How do you deal with that? Or is it a non-issue for you?

Hi Tina,

That is so true, I was just telling my friend that exact same thing!  That if you are going to do the couponing thing and want to get the stuff that is free or next to free, you have to be willing to switch brands. Like deoderant is a good one or toothpaste is a good one.

I have gone twice now.  Had coupons for both toothpaste and deoderant.  Last week it was Colgate, this week it was Crest.  But I got six Colgates FREE, six Crest's FREE.  Same with deoderant.  I got them all FREE, but, I now have about 8 different brands of deoderant!  And I always use the same kind, so I can see where I will need to get past that and be willing to try new products.  I always buy Carbmaster yogurt.  That's all I eat.  But last night I got like 12 containers of Dannon and Activia FREE.  I know Steve's son will eat it but not sure I will  So I completely agree with you and can see your point.

I guess if it's free, I'll get it, but if I have to pay, I may not switch brands.  Like the laundry soap I got last night for example was the X-tra brand.  I don't normally use it but with it being on sale, and having a $1.00 off coupon on 2 I ended up getting 10 of them...all for a buck a piece!  And with us having 5 kids in college, I can easily give that to the kids to take to the dorms or their apartment and I don't think they will care that it's not Tide :-)

It sure is time consuming and takes being very organized!! My friend has goten so much free stuff she's had to donate a lot of it to her church and the woman's shelter here in Midland beause she's running out of room to store it.  She's been doing it a while.

Darn it Nan!  I wish you going.  I'm not too anxious to go by myself but I'm sure it will be fine.

I will let you know about the class.

Hey all,

Today was a day from HELL!!!!!  My receptionist left a message for me on my cell at 7:45 I left my owner a message by 8:45, I had 3 meetings, had to run to Staples and had my computer guy visit all before 1:30.  By the time I looked up I had only had my morning shake and 1/4 of my iced tea and it was way past lunch!

Did I ever tell you that I love working with 17 women!  Actually the message I left for my owner started with just that line this morning :).

Hope you all had a great day all,

Edie

BTW, did anyone else experience this.....we noticed that the girls in the office were on edge today and a few of us even got headaches, which was not normal for us, we talked about how maybe the weather and the barometric pressure had anything to do with it.  Well I saw on the news tonight that today had the 2nd lowest barometric pressure on record!!  Just like full moons....I'm just saying.

 Hello Everyone,

I started my day with Edamame, raw and lightly salty.  So good.  A great little snack.

Rant:  what the frigg happened to the R&R board on OH?   It says the forum is now closed.  Anyone know the story behind that?

Miss all of you guys.
