It depends on your co-mobidities

Find out the "why" they turned you down and investigate what you can do to turn that no into a yes.

I went to Hurley in Flint for my surgery, they were extremely helpful in informing me of the things I needed to do, and the information I needed to gather, all the hoops to jump through, that would give me a better chance of getting approval.

Don't give up and good luck!

Have you had a sleep apnea test?  Arthritix ANYWHERE in your body?  How's your cholesterol and blood pressure?  Joint pain (sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn't).

I think the insurance companies only give you the major issues they approve on, but there are others that they will consider.

Try to find out EVERYTHING wrong with you...

and if denied - appeal.  Start by having your Dr write a letter to the insurance company indicating why he thinks is a good idea for you to have the surgery.  Often that makes all the difference.

One option is to self-pay like I did.  It cost $15,500 total for me, and I financed through Care Credit and my payments are $350 per month.  Less than most car payments.  Well worth more than a car it to live a longer, healthier, happier life.
