Don't be scared -- I have four support group members who have had the sleeve done -- they recovered quickly, and lost their weight quickly.  You will be so happy with that procedure.

We were all a little scared before surgery, so it's normal.

Best of luck -- keep us informed.

Personally I don't know about the sleeve, you may want to check out the forum for your specific surgery, they will have allot of info for you there.  But like Pat said everyone gets nervous before their procedure, if you didn't I'd be concerned :).

Stick around here and let us get to know you and good luck with your surgery,

I had the sleeve a little over 5 mths ago.  The best decision I have ever made.  I'm already feeling amazing!

From what I've heard, the sleeve may be newer, but doctors have removed large sections of stomach for YEARS for people w/stomach cancer, etc..

I've lost 100 pounds in just 5 mths and 10 days...not too bad!!

I had the Sleeve on Aug 12th.  So far, no major problems.  I lost 19 pounds on my pre-op diet, and 41 post-op.  Yep, today I hit 60 pounds.  Even my doctor is impressed!!  I was very nervous too, but I was more nervous about my health and what might happen if I didn't do something.  Good Luck!!

Congrats on your decision to have a sleeve!!

I have a sleeve, I had surgery almost 2 years ago.   The first 6 months were tough, just because I have a severe food addiction and it was like intense rehab, but that's the point, eh?  I am sooooo happy with my new body, and my new life.  I am now 115-120 lbs lighter than I was pre-op :o )   And the best part is - I lost almost all of the weight in the first 8 months!

I don't think leaks are that common, and my surgeon tested me ASAP for leaks a few hours after surgery.  I wouldn't worry about it.

Good luck!!!
