Great News! I have a date

Talk about a mixed bag of emotions! I got the call today from my surgeon's coordinator...I'm scheduled to have my RNY on November 15th! My pre-op is scheduled for November 9th. I just can't believe it.

Erin, the surgical coordinator, actually said they could schedule me as early as the 27th of THIS month. Ummm, that was just not going to happen. I have so much to prepare before surgery that I just couldn't see that being a realistic option. November 15th works perfectly! I was already planning to be on vacation the week of Thanksgiving.

Oh by the way, I lost 8lbs this month...so that made me feel good too.  I'm anxious, nervous, scared and excited! I guess that's normal?  What should I have prepared or on-hand after surgery? Please share any advice or suggestions on how I can get ready for my date.

Move over ladies, I'm joining you on the loser's bench very soon!
Sorry to ramble on...thanks for listening.

Congratulations!
I would recommend Isopure.  You can get it at GNC, it's in a clear glass bottle, many flavors.  It is soy protein, goes down easy and has 40G of protein in every 20oz bottle.  Sip, Sip, Sip.
It has helped me to get all my protein in, especially the first few weeks.
Best wishes to you!

A good way to try protein drinks is to purchase the samples.  Vitalady.com has samples of quite a few products that are $1.99 each.

I've also heard good things about Isopure and the great thing about GNC is I heard they will take back any product you dont like ....even if you've opened the package!!!  Very nice!!

Congrats!  on the pre-op weight loss.  Way to shrink that liver!

Hope your journey continues to go great for you.  I'm  planning to have the VSG after the first of the year when my flex spending account is renewed.  I cant wait to join you guys on the loser's bench.

I just ordered the sample pack of UNJURY because I was told thats what I had to live on post op pretty much. LOL  http://www.unjury.com/store/protein/

I have no idea what it's like but I find it amusing that the website goes on and on about how yummy it is. LOL

I was just on the site and ordered the sample pack too! A little disappointed it does not include the chicken soup flavor....I'm thinking a warm drink might go down a little easier post-op. I guess we'll both find out soon enough if it is truely yummy or not

Good luck with your surgery!

Congrats on getting your date and as you mentioned, the time sill fliy by quickly. I am sure they will put you on the diet for 2 weeks before your date. It is important to use the pre-time to assess your eating habits: : are you eating because you are hungry?
Are you eating out of boredom?
Are you chewing each bit slowly, putting your utensil down in between bits ?
The Pre-surgical time is a great tiem to start some good behaviors that will carry on after your surgery. Many offices say it is to help clean out the liver-true, but it also a method for you to know how well you can handle  the small bites and little sips you will have after,
For the surgery- a bathrobe(or you can use an extrahospita gown as a robe) some people bring their own favorite slippers or pillow(you might need that for the ride home)
Congratulations. Us up some of that anxiousness by taking up some form of moderate exerce: biking, walking, It will be here before you know it.
